Finally, I've found a book for which I can say that the movie was better.

This what I have been waiting for. I loved this installment more than the previous two in the series. It was fast paced with an ample amount of action  and mystery. I am really pleased with how much every character has evolved since the first book, and how the friendship between them has grown. They all seem to have started to discover themselves and have started to rely on each other a bit more, even Adam. He has finally gotten his sh** together. Also, the subtle hints Maggie has been leaving about Adam and Ronan have me all pumped up. There's one shocking death scene in the book that I wasn't expecting at all. It broke me because i really loved that character.
Overall this one was by far the best book in the series. I don't know why I didn't read this series sooner.
adventurous dark emotional mysterious fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

This book has the best opening periodt.
Maggie Stiefvater woke up, held the pen and said, today I am going to make history and burn every other writer to the ground in the pits of jealousy and envy until they are ready to bow to me. Excelsior !

A secret is a strange thing. There are three kinds of secrets. One is the sort everyone knows about, the sort you need at least two people for. One to keep it. One to never know. The second is a harder kind of secret: one you keep from yourself. Every day, thousands of confessions are kept from their would-be confessors, none of these people knowing that their never admitted secrets all boil down to the same three words: I am afraid.

And then there is the third kind of secret, the most hidden kind. A secret no one knows about. Perhaps it was known once, but was taken to the grave. Or maybe it is a useless mystery, arcane and lonely, unfound because no one
ever looked for it.

Sometimes, some rare times, a secret stays undiscovered because it is something too big for the mind to hold. It is too strange, too vast, too terrifying to contemplate. All of us have secrets in our lives. We're keepers or kept from, players or played. Secrets and cockroaches that's what will be left at the end of it all.

Even after all this time my love for this series is still soaring. This is my third time rereading it. I just love staying in this world ❤️

I love Ronan for his criminal charm.
Gansey for his motherly instinct and unconditional love for all his friends.
Blue for her sense of humor and intelligence.
Noah for his quite but powerful love for each one of the Raven boys.
Adam for his morals.
And gray man for his soft hard and tough exterior.

These characters are the love of my life. This the book that I'd sell my soul to read it again for the first time.

Conclusion of the series = 4 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Depending on where you begin the story, it was about a guy for whom love and hate stopped being parallel and began to overlap each other.

The problem with him was that the harder he tried to connect the dots, the more tangled his thoughts became. Sometimes he got caught in a loop of constantly understanding that he had been mind fucked by maggie Stievater, and rage made him to smash things, pull his hair and hit his head on the wall. He couldn't decide if he loved this book or hated it. Maybe he did both. Maybe like time feelings are circular too lol

Seriously, tho, the conclusion made no sense. The more i think about it, the lesser sense it makes. Let me try to explain what happened but first let me get a few things out of the way.

I absolutely loved Noah Czerny. Does that make me a Necrophiliac ? I mean, I don't know! I just love him. He's one of my most favorite fictional character ever. He made such a big impression with so little scenes. I wanted more of him. Lack of Noah was another problem I had with this book.

This wasn't the best book in the series but it was definitely the most gripping one. Maggie's writing was so poetic, vivid and flowery. I really loved all the characters and weirdness that this book had to offer. Maggie Steifvater is a genius, cruel but genius. This is now one of my favorite series of all time, and i cant wait for the dreamers trilogy to come out. 😍

**SPOILER ALERT**

Okay so let me share my interpretation of this book. When Noah died his sprit experienced all the time all at once. He knew what was going to happen in the future and he knew that he needed to wait for the right time to cross-over. He knew cabeswater had tied his spirit with Gansey, and it was the only thing that was keeping him alive. He just didn't remember it always.

It was easy to know everything when time was circular, but it was hard to remember how to use it.

He couldn’t remember the first time that he’d made this choice. It was hard, now, to remember what was remembering and what was actually repeating.

He had been trying to move on but his spirit was trapped. When Gansey died again their bond was severed and he was able to finally move on.

Why Gansey and not Noah ?

Cabeswater had chosen Gansey over Noah because it knew Noah won't be able to sacrifice himself to save Ronan and to kill the demon. Noah in chapter 35 said that if Welk had asked him to sacrifice himself, he wouldn't have done it.  He wasn't brave enough.

Wondering if he would have been that brave in the forest if Whelk had asked him to die instead of forcing him to. He didn’t think he would have

Cabeswater existed out of normal time so it could see multiple possiblities played out at once. It knew Gansey was the one between the two who would be able to kill the demon so it saved him.

Glendower

If cabeswater and Noah knew that Glendower was dead then why did his name was whispered when Gansey first died ?  Well, my theory is that cabeswater wanted to stop the trade of magical artefacts. Nial Lynch was stealing from cabeswater and selling dream objects in the real world. He got so consumed with greed that he decided to create Graywaren. in order to accomplish that he married a woman created by his dream, who later gave birth to Ronan - half human, half dream. Cabeswater couldn't stand  the mess he was making so it orchestrated the events that took place in the book. Cabeswater knew that Gansey's obsession will end the trade so it did what it was supposed to do.

I wish all of these was a bit clear, though.

Anyway, lets talk about henry. I liked his personality but i didn't understand his purpose in the book. He was just there to replace the piece of my heart Noah. I hated him so much. I felt so furious and jealous. I wanted Noah to recieve a proper goodbye but nobody acknowledged his sacrifice, nobody seemed to care that their friend had finally moved on. It was so heartbreaking. I felt so bad for Noah.

Artemus was another useless character, but I loved how maggie wrote the dynamics between blue and her father.

Nothing in this book was cheesy. not even the villains. Everything about this book was so refreshingly unique.

Adam and Ronan took my breath away when they both kissed. It was probably the best scene in the entire series. I also liked the romance between Gansey and Blue. It was very real.

sadly we didnt get to know what happend to Maura, Grayman and others. Ending left me wanting for more. I want moreeeeee. Errr! Maggie you cruel thing. 😒

In this book we follow Jack and Jill from the first book on their adventures in a fantastical world ruled by warewolves and vampirers.

12 year old twins, Jack and Jill, wanted nothing more than to escape the torments of their not so perfect lives so when a mysterious door appeared in front of them one day, they went through it hoping for a life changing adventure. This new world, the door brought them to, was far from perfect but here the sisters felt free for the first time in their lives. It become their heaven until something forced them to return to their old mundane and uninteresting lives.

In the first book every character felt flat, there was no character development whatsoever. This book, however, dug deeper into the lives of Jack and Jill, and I found myself liking them alot more than I did in the first one. we got a glimpse of how their lives were before they went through a door and it really helped in connecting with them on an emotional level. If the first book had these back stories, I would've enjoyed it more but unfortunately it wasn't very character driven.

I still don't understand why this had to be a series when all of this could easily be crammed into one single book. I would have definitely given it more stars, if it were a single book. Breaking down the story into 3 parts has made this book less intresting, at least for me.

It's not a bad book. I really enjoyed it. Just not as much as i was expecting to enjoy.

I grew up with the stories of Narnia and this book brought back so many fond memories. Each page was repleted with nostalgia of the days when I was completely obsessed with finding a door to a whole new world. I adored this book for taking me back to my childhood. It aslo reminded me to never stop dreaming and believing.

I would recommend this book to every Narnia fan out there.

For who are we if not the sum of our experiences, the things that we gather and collect in life? Once you strip those away we become just a mass of flesh, bone and blood vessel.

A great mystery novel. Pretty addictive and engrossing. Highly recommended.

****DNF*****

sorry, i cant..i just can't. it's so boring. This book should have been called Gathering of Thoughts or something cos every character in this book is an overthinker. I am halfway through and absolutely nothing has happened. Everyone is either thinking something stupid or trying to describe the smells and surroundings. errr !

This flesh is your feast. This blood your wine. This life, this end, my gift to you. Hold him close.

'byss and blood! This book is everything. It pulled the rug from under my feet and then dropped one shock bomb after another as i tried to to gain momentum before finally hitting the ground begging, like some masochist, for more.

Excuse my language, gentlefriends but what the sh*it c***k tw*t f**king f**kitall!

Nevernight was great but Godsgrave is even better. It's action packed and contains unexpected twists in prodigious amount. It's a little hard to get into because of the intricacies and complexities of the world this book is based in and the language that is hard to discern at times. Jay has developed so many new words for the book, it's insane, seriously. But luckily it doesn't take long to get the hang of it. btw, when it comes to killing off great characters Jay Kristoff is worse than George R.R Martin. Danger lurks at every corner and you can't predict who is getting out of this alive and thats the best part. I am like really shook. This one is a must read.

It was obvious from the way Mia's predicament was building up throughout the book that something very unexpected was going to happen, but oh boy! the storm Mia's ominous decisions brought in the end. I was screaming and flipping pages like a maniac. It is so so good. I wish someone makes a movie out of it.

Some of my favorite quotes from the book.

"In every breath, hope abides"

death is the only promise we all keep.

This life we live ... There is room from love, Mia. But a love like autumn leaves. Beautiful one turn. A bonfire the next. Only ashes the remainder.

For people like us there are no promises forever.

problem with being a librarian is there's some lessons you just can't learn from books. And the problem with being an assassin is there's some mysteries you just can't solve by stabbing f**k out of them.

I know this much. Some answers are learned. But the important ones are earned.

There is no softer pillow than clear conscience.

The heavens grant us only one life, but through books, we live a thousand.

Memory is a traitor, and a liar, and a good-for-nothing thief.

Overhyped, predictable and boring psychological thriller about a Sinclair family. The title of the book is very misleading. There were no liars in the book.

It's a story about a girl trying to recall the events that changed her life forever. It's a very simple straightforward mystery suitable for people who are new to this genre. It was enjoyable but had nothing new to offer.
