Defy Me takes places seconds after Restore Me. It follows different memories and secrets that come out to play. It was great and I enjoyed all the secrets that came to light and seeing old memories. Plus, there were slow, sweet moments that were beautifully done.
This was a super cute rom com/chick-lit book. Mel is sick of the dating world and online dating. Men are always sending disgusting photos and not really caring for dating or ghosting. So, she creates Jerk Alert for people to log their reviews on men to say if they are disgusting, a ghosted, liar, adulator, etc. What could honestly go wrong?
I loved reading about Mel creating the website and having problems with it. However, the romance was a little annoying because Mel was always paranoid with it, so it made me feel irritated reading about it. Would recommend this for a fast, fun read.

The Emperor is dead and the Empresses sacrificed herself to be with her husband in death. Prince Ahkin is heir of the throne and must find a wife before becoming Emperor. Six Princesses come to the palace to compete for the heart of the Prince.
I loved the world building and religion in the book. It was well done. Also, the magic system was unique and well done. I didn’t like all the sacrifices, but that was the point of it due to Mayana not liking them as well. Highly recommend this book.

Ana wants to be the chambermaid to the cruel Elizabeth. Elizabeth tests Ana and starts to grow close to Ana and likewise. This kind of reminded me of The Favourite, but in reversal and more twisted and dark.
The beginning started off strong and promising, however as the book carried on it started to become slow and boring. Ana was naive and the relationship was unhealthy and had no substance to it. Also, the cruelty was not really there and there was no shock value. Also, the ending ended really easy.

At the beginning I hated this book and thought of dnfing this book because the conversations didn’t have quotes, too much detail, and it felt like I was outside looking into the story and not in the actual story. So, instead of putting the book down, I went onto Libby, a library app, and got the audiobook. The audiobook was so much better and allowed me to get invested into the story. I really loved following the characters over years and seeing them grow. We follow them through different hardships and joys. It’s about growing up. Well done. I definitely recommend this.
Reid was raised as a man because her mom died and her father wanted to keep his title and lands. When the Princes find out her secret, she is forced to choose to help the Princes or allow her dad to be stripped of his land and titles as well as go to jail. She chooses to help them. From there she goes on missions.
I really love Reid and how not everything came easy to her. I loved the royalty in both countries and want more and more world building from it, which I hope to see in book two. The only thing I didn’t like was how I felt like I was thrown into the story when I started it.

I really enjoyed the world building and magic system that Marie Lu created. The character development was well done. Also, I didn’t see the twist of the story coming and was well done. However, I found the story to be slow paced and on the boring side.
I like the psychological aspect with Watson and his experiment. I studied child development and psychology in college so I always found Watson interesting. I did find this book to be slow and boring. The twists were not exciting and the events leading up to the end fell very flat.
Imagine Me takes place two days after the last book. This was good, however the ending felt rushed and I wanted more of a few characters to tie their arcs up. The ending was a happy one, which was great. Also, can we take a second and admire how beautiful this cover is. This cover is my favorite out of the whole series.
Daphne is a plus sized influencer and I love that. She reluctantly agrees to be in one of her sort of friends wedding even though they have some bad blood.
The book moved slowly for me and I found it boring. Also, the flashbacks at time would make the book confusing. Plus, I didn’t like being constantly reminded by the MC’s weight.
