This one was intriguing enough to keep me reading. that's about it though. I didn't really invest in any of the characters. ultimately won't be continuing with this series.

This one fair blew my socks off. Well, it would have but I tend to avoid wearing them whenever possible.

The flow and pacing were perfection! I had to avoid reading it after bedtime or I was liable to read several hundred pages in one shot. Which is only a bad thing because I need sleep. Writing style was so on point I didn't even mind the characters speaking in verse. My favorite character is probably Filippa. Go read it and it will be blatantly obvious why.

You will not see anything coming with this book. you will be totally thrown by this modern take on the whodunit novel.

I love this book. I love Dejean. I love, love, love Perle. And I especially love that they don't understand each other right away. The pacing and worldbuilding were fantastic, sublime even. I'm looking forward to reading the next installment of this series.

One thing that struck me a tad odd was that guns and cars existed alongside marauding pirates, ships, and swords. the way this information was introduced felt more than a tad weird and pulled me right out of the story. All's fair in fantasy, and exposition is certainly a learning curve.

I absolutely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys sirens and mermaids. But, don't expect any romance, there is none to be found. This is a love story of the highest platonic caliber.

This book was my first adult fiction novel in a very long while. It was very well written and I cringed in all the right moments. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves drama that comes flying out of left field.

This one sort of snuck up on me. At first I was only reading out of obligation, then I started rooting for Wooly. This story is cute, and definitely not all fluff.

This was an easy read. The love triangle annoyed me to no end and the friends to lovers thing really only feels genuine when it is happening between two people, and not two people that both want a third person.

Additionally the writing style did feel a smidge simplistic. This is not a bad thing just surprising for an alternative history book. Which are usually so convoluted that you can't think straight for weeks after reading them.

All in all it was enjoyable and I will be continuing this trilogy.

this one was a fascinating dive into the past of the world from Of Fire and Stars. It was interesting to see the beginning of one of the major plot points from OFAS.

the world building was intriguing, I would love to learn more about the gods in this world. Asra was a bit of a wash for me. It took far too long for her to realize her strength and value. Ina's ambition and desire for control and power were fascinating and frustrating.

all in all a decent read.

Alright! Let's do this. this book was really cute. I love Mare, girl after my own soul. seriously she felt like someone took my inner workings and spliced them with my ideal partner. The world building was spot on; perfect balance of explanation and holding back. Writing style was totally my thing. Nice and easy, flow wise. Got second hand embarrassment in certain spots.

I always find it really hard to review nonfiction. Well, when it isn't a textbook. how does one quantify a person's life into a rating, and digest their emotions and trauma into a succinct review.

So. I will settle for telling you how it made me feel. I knew about nearly everything I would read in this book before it was ever written. But I knew the side the media chose to share. Rose flips the media's account on its head by acknowledging what they got right, and correcting the wrong.

I found it truly fascinating to read about the children of God cult, and the insight into Brian ( Marilyn Manson). I also found reading the abuse and trauma to be quite enraging, especially the parts where people were clearly complicit.

I want to thank Rose McGowan and the countless other women for having the bravery to tear down abusers and to share their experiences.

If you are in an abusive or unsafe situation, please do what you can to get away. Almost every country has a crisis line, it is often available via text message as well.

Be safe. Know you are loved and appreciated.
