I was provided with an ARC PDF for review by the author. This book is currently a dnf for me. I will reconsider reading it after it's been published. I found there were some Grammar and syntax issues.
There is potential for a great story in here. It needs some heavy editing. I had a glance through the rest and found that the bulk of the story seems written in first person with third person use of names. Lots of telling, I tend to prefer more showing. I hope the author has a trusted editor.

Moderate: Sexual assault, Slavery
Too pornographic. also featured bestiality and rape/abuse.
I read the 2002 preface and skimmed the rest. What I did read was wildly out of touch. I can understand how a disillusioned professor coming into his career at the height of war-time rationing would have been influenced to think like this. However wanton capitalism as Friedman suggests is also the "wrong cure for the wrong disease". All I can say is I feel far more free with universal healthcare than I ever could without it.
I can't stand first person narrative unless it is directly relevant to the plot. also the format is unusual.
Well. You win some, you lose some. Almost made it through this. These books are just terrible in my opinion. The further I got the worse it was.
There was far too much ... And since you already know. No, I don't. Essentially it falls apart due to a total lack of follow through on world building.
Couldn't get past the mechanics of building a semi subterranean city on the moon. Also the mc was seriously cocky and snarky without having earned either.
The writing was approachable, but the characters just didn't work for me. Bored rich woman can't stop talking about area body discovery despite no new information. Skanky bitch wife of aforementioned woman step son thinks she is so hard done by. Seriously she is constantly scheming to steal money that doesn't belong to her. Or pushing her potentially gay husband into higher paying jobs. I couldn't find anybody to root for and kept wondering when the bitch would get murdered. It was definitely time to bail.
I cannot stand this woman's writing style. I beat my head against atlas shrugged for weeks trying to win that damn essay contest. Shouldn't be surprised about this one.

Okay, this one really wasn't for me. Absolutely had to slog through the nearly 60 pages that I did read. Time to move on to greener pastures.
