Where to start. This was a nice primer after so much time away from graphic novels. I really enjoyed the artistry and the pacing. It was easy to follow and showed excellent restraint in what was spoken vs shown.
I highly recommend this to anyone looking for an Introduction to this medium of storytelling. Kinda bummed by the lack of wolverine and rogue, though.

This book was such a breath of fresh air! the voice was sarcastic and snarky; Locke was a total pissant and I loved it!
It's nice to see a layered criminal for a change. Someone who clearly knows right from wrong. How it differs from what is and isn't legal. The world building was fantastic. the only spot I had any trouble with was figuring out the years and dates. Once I got the hang of it, reading this was so smooth.
Will definitely be hunting after the rest of the books in this series.

this book was actually pretty good. I would really like to read more from him in future. alas it shall have to wait until the summer when my course load is somewhat lighter. there were some moment in here that were dead serious and very important. Some were just funny. Like how it took meeting Patrick Stewart to make him realize that taking every role seriously is how you hone your craft.
consider giving it a read.

Despite the subject matter I found it very easy to fall asleep while listening to this book. This is a good thing, actually. Since I am struggling to regain a more normal circadian rhythm. I always enjoy books by Kathy Reichs.
That being said this one did fall a tad flat for me. I think that might be because I read it out of sequence. I will come back to this one at a later time and see how I feel about it after reading the books in order.

This book breathed new life into my soul. Seriously I think my hair was actually fuller while I read it. This is actually the second book in Christopher Moore's Fool series. It reads like a standalone novel though, which is great for me because i don't have the first one.
It is based on three works: Shakespeare's The merchant of Venice, and Othello, and Edgar Allen Poe's The Cask of Amontillado. There are several characters from these works that have been woven into one identity. The Fool, Drool, and Jeff are original characters.
The plotting was impeccable. I could tell the distinct works from the dialogue and what was original writing. It all flowed so well. There is also a VERY sarcastic narrator known only as the chorus.

this book was vaguely cute, world building was definitely off. You go from San Francisco in 1700's ish to Australian badlands and mystical hooplah and creatures that somehow survived the mass extinction and/or came from space. And some magic stone with a magic power. And a map that lives and does things only the mc can see/interact with. Very bland.

I stuck it out as long as I could. Just couldn't get into the writing style. Some of the stories I couldn't find a character to be invested in. It happens. On to things that I find more enjoyable.

Wow this book took me forever to read (28 days!). On to greener pastures. This book perfectly represents why I don't care for sequels. Midnight Thief should have been a stand-alone novel in my opinion.
It all felt wooden and forced; I only stuck with it to watch Adele and Flick grow their relationship. I've never cared for the multiple terminologies for the same thing either. Makvani, demon rider, demon cat, felbeast, pick one and stick to it, stop making my head spin. I would be curious to read a spin off about the Female village chief who had a tryst with Leyus though.

Okay, So this one was largely a bust, I had to read it though. It was the least boring sounding book from the title list. And had the shortest page count.
It does have some good points to it though. The key take away being that Failing is an integral part of the recipe for success, if you aren't screwing up then you are missing huge opportunities to improve.
The second take away is that if opportunity knocks take it no matter how inconvenient, or if it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

This one surprised me a little, in that it barely had anything to do with mermaids. Seriously, next to nothing. Other than the protagonist terrifying herself with a book of legends, that is it on the finned folk. Still a decent bubblegum fluffy read, though.
