Lots of relatable stuff in here!

This was a good book, but not really a nice one, to me. Which doesn't make it not worth a read at all, it's just that, due to it's subject and main character it's not a very positive thing to read, which I usually do want, since I mainly read as a form of escapism, I guess.
Still, this was well written, well thought out and the character development was also well executed, considering how the MC ends up in the original trilogy.

I sometimes found the hints to, and parallels between the trilogy and this one a bit too much, too many maybe, but on the other hand some were fun too so, I dunno :P

Becky Chambers is SO GOOD at what she does. This novella was different in style than the Wayfarers books, but her writing is still so good, and it makes me feel good to read it.
I love her worldbuilding, the way she's obviously thought about how certain changes or circumstances would influence people and what people need. Her characters are so - I wanted to say human, but I think real is a better word.
In this novella I loved how she wrote the relationships/interactions between the four characters. While due to the format almost all we see is glimpses and implied situations, they still feel very real and important. I would have loved to read more about them and see how the story would proceed, 135 pages is not a lot, but it is also good (great) as is.

This was both fun and cute! :D The kits (kid dragons) were adorable ^^ I felt like the pacing of the story was a bit too fast at times, but that may be due to it being a novella.

I really enjoyed reading this. I really liked the way the worldbuilding is done, you form an image of how things are, and you slowly learn more and more and keep adjusting/expanding it that way. (This may sound very 'Yes, Tessa, that is how worldbuilding works, you get information and you adjust what you know with it' but I promise it doesn't feel standard!)
I liked the characters, the way their circumstances changed how they view things and how that is described and the storyline itself ^^

This is the first non-novella book that I read in one single day in a Long Time. Sure, that was helped by the heatwave and staying up late waiting for the rain that never came, but it was also just a good and engaging book!
