I loved this book. Such nice wintery feelgood material with some of my favourite tropes. The characters were interesting, Reese is a cutie and I too want a Rex now :P I'm sad to see the writer doesn't have any other books out (yet? :D ) cause I would love to read more.
I loved this book so much. It was very addictive, I loved the non-linear storytelling, the way information was given slowly, but things were still comprehensible. (There is a list that explains words at the end. I discovered this once I reached the end. Oops.) And I liked a lot more, but everyone should just read it themselves.
Yay for two (well written in my opinion) Ace main characters, and there is a great analogy explaining how ace people might look at having sex (or not) and this one doesn't even involve food! I need to remember it :D
Reading this book just made me so happy overall! It also made me sad at times, and lots of other stuff, but overall it's such a nice book! I'm really glad to see a third part in this series is coming this year!
(And speaking of this year.... My goal was 15 books... 7 days gone and 3 books done... Hmmmm.)

I really enjoyed this book! I don't usually read many romance novels, but I did a search for the ace section of Riptide Publishing (a LGBTQ fiction publisher) and bought a few of them (ok, almost half of them, but there was a sale!) and I'm so glad I did!
This book had what I would expect from a romance novel (a slow build to romance, some struggles along the way, etc.) but the setting was nice, the ace aspect was really nice and well done (I loved that the conversation about it was written from the perspective of the non-ace character, interesting view for me :P ) and while the crime part of the story wasn't too hard to figure out, it was still enjoyable to see it unfold. Yep, would recommend this to others (if they like romance and stuff).

Overall I really enjoyed reading this book, I liked the worldbuilding, the story kept me captivated and I wanted to keep reading, though there were also some details that irked me a bit.
Mainly it was the 'sex/romance' storyline between Agnieszka and Sarkan. It felt a bit like an afterthought, 'oh yeah, we need some of that in this book or people won't like it, lets apply it to them' and all that while there was so much more between Agnieszka and Kasia. If someone told me that had been the original storyline, but it had to be altered to make it less gay and more 'mainstream' I wouldn't be surprised :P
(and yes, of course the friendship between Kasia and Nieshka like is nice too, good friendships are great, it just seemed like there could be more, but no, magic-sharing-induced-lust happened and bleh :P They did grow to like each other more as the book progressed, but still, no, it didn't add to the story for me.)
Aside from that, hanging around with writers has made me do what school never could: look at the way a book was written, the storybuilding and choices and stuff, and I don't know if I like it XD I used to just enjoy the story, but now my brain goes analyzing stuff and ugh, don't think I'm happy with that...

I like it when a writer knows how important dresses with pockets are.
Inventive dragon lore, queer characters, love for snow... Good ingredients for a good book :D
