Demon Time grabbed my attention immediately. Homeboy banging his stick on page 3. Book was steamy, action packed, and didn’t include a bunch of frills despite a complicated plot line. It got the job done in as little pages (under 200) and I am here for it. In and out. There were a few typos, but nothing major to keep you from enjoying the story. The plot line of fallen angels and nymphs and faeries was interesting and I liked the Greek and biblical names. Characters were fun, sexy, and black. And real black, not watered down to appeal to the masses; I appreciate that. I loved the attention to his locs, the appreciation for curves, and she had braids. The language was real, like I would speak at home; I loved that about the book. This book is entertaining, refreshing, and executed beautifully. Definitely read the next book. Serial killer professor giving men what they deserve and a female student feeling like a pawn. These dudes get what they deserve. I’m rooting for a killer, give them hell and make it painful. It reminds me of when teachers used to massage my shoulders. Creepy, and definitely not asked for. I went back and forth about the connection between Carly and Scarlet. I was right. Great love story too that did not take away from the story. Story is told at a good pace with all the suspense I could stand. Check out my review on YouTube.

This historical etched fantasy was poignant, serious and entertaining. The story was rich in undertones, characterization, racial discrimination, culture and history of NY during that time. I wanted to cry for the limitations of my fellow black people and I can understand how anything to not be oppressed like that can be tempting. That opens the door for the manipulation expressed in the book. Underestimation is all too real. I felt the police handling of Tom's father was all too real of the realities of today with black men. Sexy, quick, and realistic of complacency people can get when in a committed relationship. I liked how she addressed the situation and gave home boy something to mill over.

Oddball is easily the dumbest book I ever decided to pick up on a whim at my local library. Abstract stories that aren't funny. and most I don't even get. Illustrations are good though.

The Me You Love in the Dark is quick, funny, dark, but I didn’t find it scary. Maybe because it is a comic. It is a ghost story, but it reminded me of abusive controlling relationships. The illustrations were great and painted a great picture. I like there is a black character, and what the ghost does to him. I loved it. Check out my Youtube review.

The Deep is a beautifully told fantasy involving a long forgotten part of history of the world. I mentioned it to people that had never even heard of the events of pregnant slaves, or others for that matter, being drowned at sea. Heartbreaking. The story itself is highly original, entertaining, optomistic and sad. History is a burden we live with each day. Can’t change it, gotta stand it, don’t forget it. We are stronger together. Love love love. Still thinking about it days later.

Great coming of age and then some story of a woman learning who she is and what she wants by gaining strength from the gay men in her life. Nothing wrong with being different. This book pay homage to the queer community, New York, and the "half gay" men that deem to see women as something more than what they can get from us. I enjoyed this story a lot.

Chill vibe type of guy with a dicey past seeking girl with It factor. Found her, now to seal the deal is not as easy, but he doesn't let her get away. Charismatic story that made me want effort to be put my way.

The List is somewhat funny, long, drawn out and boring. I like the idea though.
