"Archangel's Kiss" is a direct sequel to the first book in the Guild Hunter's series, "Angels' Blood". I think I liked this as much, if not more than Angels' Blood. I really enjoyed the banter between Elena and Raphael and
the bits we get about Elena becoming an angel and learning how to do angelic things, like fly, end up being really interesting.

Overall it was a good book, it ends on a light cliffhanger but I don't mind because the rest of the series has already been released.

A few of the scenes were a bit too gruesome for me, which is why I'm knocking half of a star off.

I give this book a 4.5 out of 5

This is one of the first books that I've read that had multiple points of view and I had to read this a little slower than I normally read books.

I want to like aspects of the blind representation but upon a closer look the blind main character kind of falls into the "magical disabled persons" trope and I don't like that very much.

"Typically, the disabled characters are limited to four types: the “magical cripple,” the “evil cripple,” the “inspirational cripple” and the “redemptive cripple.” Magical cripples transcend the limitations of the human body and are almost divinelike. They make magical things happen for able-bodied characters."

I really liked Xiala, I like how relatable Serapio was, the queerness, and the addition or introduction of a third gender.

This was a really good read and I can't wait to dig into the next book in the series.

I'm giving this 4.5 stars out of 5

I'm not going to rate this book because it's clear that it's not finished. OEB herself pulled this one off shelves because she thought of it as her "Star Trek" novel AND it was unfinished. If you've read this and want to get some insight on some of the Tekhon characters before they're involved with Alana, you should read the short story "A Necessary Being" in the book "Unexpected Stories" by Octavia E. Butler.

This is a short novella by Rebekah Witherspoon, it's the firsT thing I've read by them. A Walk in The Park is an adorable love story about two people who accidently get promised the same dog from a shelter.  To solve the problem they end up devising a plan to co-parent the dog, but that leads to some interesting things happening. I listened to this on audiobook and it didn't take long to finish at all. I definitely recommend.

I'm giving this a 5 out of 5 stars.

This is a story about an 11 year old girl and our not so distant dystopian future. The adults dismissed the problem of climate change so now it's up to one little girl to try and reverse it. The twists and turns in this comic are so good, I really enjoyed that aspect. I also enjoyed the allegories within the comic. I can't think of anything I didn't like about this comic to be honest.

I'm giving this comic a 5 out of 5 stars

Visions of Heat is the second novel in the Psy/Changeling series and just like the first book (Slave to Sensation), this book did not disappoint.

To make this quick, I'll just say that I really enjoyed the interactions between the two main characters, Faith and Vaughn. I also enjoyed learning a little bit more about the PsyNet and I enjoyed the spicy scenes.

I'll give this a 4.5 out of 5 stars

This is a collection of short stories by Zora Neale Hurston, this book includes 8 stories that have never been published before now. Some of the stories were sad, some were humorous, and some were a little bit confusing.

There was often mention of the female characters taking abuse from male characters, Hurston had commentary on that and more often than not the aggressor ended up harmed or slighted instead. I appreciated her commentary on it, domestic abuse is a problem now and it was basically rampant back then.

There were some stories that I didn't like very much, mostly because I didn't understand them. I do plan to listen to this audiobook again, probably some time next year (2024).

This was my first time reading Hurston and it won't be my last.

I'll be giving this collection of stories a 4 out of 5 stars.

Angels' Blood is a story about a guild hunter named Elena who is hired by an archangel, named Raphael. Elena's task is to to hunt down a rouge and murderous archangel, named Uram. This is an adult paranormal romance, so there's violence and sex and I enjoyed most of it.

There was one line that was misogynistic and I didn't really like that. The main character constantly made poor decisions that put herself in danger and that was really tiresome. Other than those two things, I enjoyed everything else in this book.

This book has action, spicy scenes, and funny banter between the main character and her love interest.

I'm giving this book a 4 out of 5 stars.

This is a magical realism story mix with real history and it worked out really well. A magical heist, good characters, and a really well told story makes for an awesome book.
I also really loved the afterward or author's note, it gives a lot of insight on the history the story is based on.

A Quick & Easy Guide to They/Them Pronouns was honestly a very quick read and it’s an informative graphic novel. The author & illustrator, Archie Bongiovanni (they/them) and the other author, Tristan Jimerson (he/him) include a wide range of topics. Topics such as; how to ask someone’s pronouns, why people should use the correct pronouns for their peers, why not to over-apologize when you mess up someone’s pronouns, how to use pronouns in a professional setting, how to correct someone who is using the wrong pronouns, how to come out as non-binary, and they discuss other topics as well.

I saw someone say that the demographic for this comic was teens and young adults but I think this comic is teens, young adults, and adults alike. This would be really useful to give to a family member for when I’m ready to come out as a non-binary woman. I enjoyed what I read.
