I really enjoyed this memoir by Maia Kobabe. I saw myself in these pages and reading this made me feel so seen. This is graphic novel is about finding out about oneself, this was informative and challenging. Kobabe talks about being gender queer specifically being non-binary , being asexual, changing pronouns, coming out to their family, and they talk about so much more.

It felt so relatable when the author talked about not feeling male or female, the author's love for reading was also relatable. I was a big reader even when I was a child, I used those stories to escape. I remember reading some of the books they talked about liking and I even took some recommendations in the books that I hadn't heard of before.

I will not be leaving this a numbered rating because I do not rate memoirs or people's life experiences, though I will say that I did love this memoir.

This is a short story about Sibling Dex, a monk, and Mosscap, a robot.

This was really cute. It had laugh out loud moments but, it also had moments that made me really think about life, a human's "purpose", depression, and religion.

I was speaking to a friend about this novella and they said it's basically "a hug in a book" and I think that's accurate. I'm definitely going to continue the series.

I'm giving this novella a 5 out of 5 stars.

Flung Out of Space is a comic book about novelist and comic book writer, Patricia Highsmith. Highsmith was famous for writing Strangers on a Train, the psychological thriller that got turned into a fan loved movie of the same name by Alfred Hitchcock. After writing Strangers on a Train, Highsmith wrote The Price of Salt, which is a book about lesbians that has a happy ending. This was very uncharacteristic for books around the time (1950s).

Highsmith was a not a good person and the author and illustrator let us know in a forward at the beginning of the comic. Highsmith often hit on and cheated with her co-workers female partners, was an out a proud racist, and she was just down right rude to people she interacted with. I think Highsmith portrayal was a bit sanitized, I know that Highsmith was a racist up until her dead. She's quoted as saying some honestly horrifying things about Hitler and Jewish people.

I love period pieces and that includes the comic medium. It was interesting to see Highsmith navigate life as a lesbian in 1950's America. Some parts made me feel bad for her, like the parts where
she has psychiatrists telling her that they can "cure" her lesbianism.
Then I remembered that she wasn't really a good person and she was a racist and misogynist so I now I struggle to feel bad for her but I kind of still do.

I really loved the art, it was nice to look at. I enjoyed the information value and the nice aesthetics that this comic has.

I give this comic a 4 out of 5 because the real Highsmith was a worse person than they portrayed and I don't really think they should have held back in that aspect.

This is the story of Sascha, a Psy (a race of being who do not have emotions and they do not display feelings), who is working with Lucas, a Changeling (race of human/animal shapeshifters). Sascha and Lucas are working on a building development for the Changelings made in part by the Psy.

Lucas is actually trying to get information from Sascha because there is supposedly a Psy serial killer kidnapping and hurting Changeling women. Sascha is a Psy that is starting to "fall apart", she has emotions and feelings even though no other Psy does. Both of them have secrets to hide, neither of them anticipated falling in love.

The world building in this book was really nice, I enjoyed it. This is my first Nalini Singh novel and it won't be the last.

I was able to find out who the serial killer was without the help of the book so I'm going to knock off half a star because of that. This wasn't my favorite book but it is a book that I really enjoyed.

I'm giving this book 4.5 out of 5.

This is the story of two brothers who, after receiving an inheritance of money and a house, open a restaurant and the other brother starts a farm. Things start getting interesting when the farming brother, Rowan, finds these special delicious mushrooms growing on the land he inherited.

There are twists and turns and the first one was surprising but the rest were predictable, which is okay. The story was still enjoyable. I really loved the art.

I'm going to give this 4 stars out of 5.

This is he story of Korede and Ayoola, two sisters, one of which is a serial killer. The other sister provides unwavering support because she feels that as the eldest child she should protect the younger child.

I really enjoyed this and the way it was written and the twists and turns were very enjoyable and well placed.

I can't think of one think I didn't like about this book, it's definitely worth the read.

I give this 5 out of 5 stars.

The Obelisk Gate is the sequel to N. K. Jemisin's "The Fifth Season" and it definitely does not suffer from "bad sequel syndrome "as one goodreads user put it. This was an amazing follow up, with so much wonderful and vast world building and character growth.

I loved this and I see why it also won the Hugo award (and many other awards).
I was drawn in to the story and my interest or excitement never faltered. This book reminds me of how enamored I was while reading Octavia E. Butler's Patternist series, I see some elements of OEB's stories come through in The Fifth Season and The Obelisk Gate. Mainly a dystopian setting, found family, and found community to help survive the recent disasters.

I read this in 5 days only because I was buddy reading with my boyfriend and we had to read around his schedule. If I had read this on my own I probably would have finished it within a day or two. It was that good.

Radiant Red volume 1 is about Satomi Sone, the anti hero Radiant Red. I read the first two volumes of Radiant Black and neither were as good as Radiant Red. This story was action packed and interesting all the way through, it was so good that it didn't take me long to read at all.

The art, much like the Radiant Black volumes, is really nice to look at.

All in all, this was a really fun and exciting comic

This is my first Talia Hibbert book and it was in fact very unfairly cute! This is the story of two high school enemies who used to be best friends who are now romantically involved. There were so many parts where I literally laughed out loud and that is always really enjoyable while reading a book. Even though I'm used to reading adult romances with (well adults and) spice in them, this is a YA with no spice. I still enjoyed this book, it was just really cute.

I think because some of it felt a little drawn out I don't plan on reading this again but I'm happy that I read it the one time.

Prince of Cats is a retelling of Romeo and Juliet that focuses mainly on Tybalt.

The dialoged was in old English and because of that it was really hard to follow what was happening. I really loved the art though.

I think the writing was okay and the art was phenomenal.
I'm giving this a 3 out of 5 stars.
