This is a memoir. Just be very clear on that going into the book. It's a good memoir, but not quite what I was expecting. Personally, I would have loved to have heard more about actual ways that women around the world are creating feminist cities, what feminist cities are and have, rather than anecdotes from the author's life and a laundry list of things that definitely aren't what she defines as feminist.

This horror anthology truly encapsulated its theme. All of the stories are so different and take wildly different approaches, but they all have this creeping feeling of dread throughout. And it's not just the standard, horror-monster-evil type of dread: it has an added layer of the dread that everyone who isn't rich feels all the time worrying about how we'll pay our bills and put food on the table. Knowing that the rug could be pulled out from under us at any time. Many of these stories veer right into the speculative fiction side of horror, which I loved. Correy Farrenkopf's story comes to mind, as does Clark Boyd's. A lot of them are also written in a horror-comedy style, which in my opinion was best shown by Nathaniel Lee's story about Beelzebub walking into a gas station night shift. Other standouts to me were Hailey Piper's story about revenge on missing out and Laurel Hightower's story about a demonic entity in the workplace. I highly recommend this story collection if you're looking for a fun set of horror stories centered around the miseries of the daily grind. I had a ton of fun reading it and thank Cursed Morsels for the ARC.

Some parts of this book did not age well, but a lot of it did. It's so fun to read and I still stand by it.

I wish every girl could read a book like this, a book that teaches them that there is more than one way to be a girl and that they, too, are allowed to be angry, rowdy, and fierce. I love Alanna, she is such a fun character, and I can't wait to read more about her.

osheta moore is a gift to this world. I cried multiple times reading this book. she puts the practice and concepts of antiracism in a way that everyone can understand and in a way that truly makes you believe a better world is possible. this book is rooted in christianity, but its concepts are universal. I would recommend this to everyone, especially if you want a book that takes an approach to antiracism rooted in peace and genuine love of other human beings.

the stories in this book were pretty impenetrable, with needlessly flowery language and incomprehensible plots. overall, it gave off the tone of being incredibly pretentious and more concerned with sounding complex than actually telling a good story. there were a few good ones in here, but overall this book fell completely flat for me.
