Definitely not horror. If you like writing that is not subtle in any way about themes, this is for you. 

The NXIVM style cult that’s presented as fun and empowering really soured me on what would have been a five star read. Aside from that, Sara Gran continues to be incredible. As usual with her books, the ending was my favorite part. 

This book felt like a warm hug. 

Just watch For All Mankind if you want to see this premise done much better. The characters in this book were absolutely paper thin, and the story spent more time talking about the protagonist’s perfect, boring personal life than an actual alternate history of the space program.  Also this book has the most embarrassing sex scenes I’ve ever read. Genuinely made me cringe. 

Genuinely one of the best books I’ve ever read in my life.
