Mini Audiobook Review: 4.5 - Thank you so much to PRH Audio for the complimentary audio!

Brynn is the coolest FMC out of the first 3 so far! She has been such a staple in the first two books that it was nice to finally see her get her own book. She was always one of my favorite characters and this one made her even more cooler. I love the business that she has and how she adopts all these WAGs into her world and now she has a chance to be a WAG herself.

We didn't get a great first impression of Maxwell and it takes just about the whole book to learn why he has been secretive & what may have caused his outburst in the beginning of the book. I just wish he would have been honest up front but I guess then we wouldn't have the conflict.

I just love the community that Alexa has created between all these women. And I love that she shows both sides: the catty, trouble makers and the strong, independent women who lift each other up.  We also get appearances from the prior FMCs which was nice to catch up with them.

Mini Audiobook Review: 4.5 - Thank you so much to PRH Audio for the complimentary copy of this book!

This book made a big splash in the last few months due to a highly profile relationship between a certain pop star and a certain football player whose initials are TK. And Alexa has confirmed that Travis Kelce was the inspo for TK Moore.

Once again Alexa has done it again! I absolutely loved this one and I thought Poppy being a single mom was a fun touch to the book (in majority of my romances, neither the FMC or MMC are parents). I also thought that it was smart for Alexa to include that Poppy's son is aware that he has dad and that he didn't know he existed which made that storyline go a little smoother.

Poppy got lucky being surrounded by such great WAGs with children that she can share this new world with as well as surround Ace with other athlete's children.

My only qualm is that I understood Poppy's concerned with CTE and the dangers of concussions but I don't know. They just started to date again and I know he is the father of her son but I wasn't sure if she should've been in the position to make that decision for him?

These books are turning into being just such a fun series - on to the next!

Mini Book Review: Thank you so much to PRH Audio for the complimentary copy of this book!

I had been wanting to read this series for sometime now and after seeing a fellow book friend do a binge, I thought it's time.  I think Alexa's insight as a WAG definitely helped with the believability in this series. This did not feel like a debut book so kudos to Alexa for a great start to her career!

I am really kicking myself for not starting this series sooner. I just could not stop listening and was so invested in the story. Marlee and her ex were so toxic and is a lesson that just because you are with someone since HS doesn't mean that you are meant to be with them forever. And I love that this technically is a second chance romance as Gavin and Marlee previously knew one another and hooked up.

Ugh Gavin is top tier book boyfriend. I just love how cool he came across and how protective he is of Marlee even prior to being with her.

One thing that stood out in this book was the relationships among all the other WAGs. You laugh and you get angry at that them. It had the typical mean girl energy that you would expect but has also strong women who don't take no crap.

If you are looking for a sport romance series to read, I highly recommend checking this one out!
These can also be read as standalones but I think reading them in order is helpful just to get the connection of the characters.

Highly recommend.

Mini Audiobook Review: This was such a fun listen!  I am still new to Talia's writing & I had heard that she can get pretty spicy and this one definitely had some spice! I love how Cash & Bailey knew each other just simply from him being a customer at the cafe she worked at. I thought Hibbert did a good job with incorporate real life scenarios. This totally could have been a full novel and just been as good.

From my memory, this book didn't have a lot of holiday items included so I think this could be read outside of December.

Mini Audiobook Review: 3.75 - Even though I did the audio of this, I did win this book as a GoodReads giveaway!

This was my one book club pick for the month of December but we ended up talking more about one of the other choices this month. It is not like this was a bad book by all means it just wasn't a favorite of mine that I have read this book. I will say I think I did enjoy this one more than One Day in December.  I'd like to think that Gio wouldn't have been THAT upset with her over the secret that she has kept from him. And I feel like he wasn't that upset by it if my memory serves correctly. I know Josie's other book was picked up for adaptation but I would much rather see this one adapted. All the characters minus the ex boyfriend were entertaining enough.

I am glad I did the audiobook for this as opposed to reading. I thought the narrator was great and brought Iris's delicateness to the story.

PS - I really need to give gelato a try!

Mini Audiobook Review: WHEWWWWWWW I did a marathon of the three novellas in one sitting and it took everything out of me.

I had never read Adriana Herrera before but I knew she was excellent and heard specifically that this series was spicy. The rumors are most certainly true. This was probably the spiciest collection of work that I have read. So I might as well go out with a bang!

I am going to combine reviews for all 3 novellas into one:

Her Night With Santa
Sapphic, Santa's daughter
This is a sapphic romance and the shortest of the 3 novellas. Within the short amount of pages/minutes, you get a the scope of story and still had me gagging (no pun intended).
There really isn't much plot within these books and things move rather quickly.

The Toy King
Brother's arranged woman, fated mates
I think this was my favorite of the 3 and the first one I listened to. The male narrator's (Gomez Pugh) voice was so sexy that it really made the story for me. I just enjoyed the chemistry between Valente & Kessina. It felt real while of course being super spicy.

Run Darling
Age gap, brother's best friend, long time pining
My jaw was on the floor majority of this book. I just couldn't believe what I was hearing.
Whenever I thought it couldn't get more filthy, Herrera proved me wrong! This does include knotting so if that is something you are into, you'll enjoy this!

If you are looking for very spicy novellas that give you a little of everything plus LOTS OF TOY ACTION! Check these out!

Thank you so much to St Martins for an advance copy of this book!

This book will be published on December 26th, 2023.

This is the follow up to Jenny Howe's debut The Makeup Test and honestly I love this one even more! I didn't realize that I was a reality trope girlie until I am constantly reading romances with this and I always love them.

Sigh Everly and Logan.
I loved seeing their relationship grow and how subtle it started until it wasn't subtle at all. I really enjoyed his character and like that Howe mentioned the male's insecurities in his body which I feel like we don't normally see in books. I was okay with this being kind of an instalove trope due to the nature of how they met and how much time they spent around each other. I also love how he had a little bit of an arc from being very close with the showrunner to how their relationship changed by the end.

"Disappearing is safer. Then I might be all the things I'm afraid I am: too weird, too loud, too awkward." Everly had to take a breath before she spoke the last one. "Too much."

There were definitely aspects of Everly story that I could relate to as a fellow plus size woman. The quote above resonated with me as often times I feel like I come off as too much but it stems from just being awkward and wanting to fit in. I also appreciated the complicated relationship mothers and daughters have with one another especially when the mother is putting so much weight pressure on the daught. I know my mom would say things here and there and I know some of her views towards her image came from her mother. I thought the conversation Everly had with her mother was very honest and vulnerable but very much needed. I am glad that Everly was able to stick up to her mother.

Now I will say I do love the color black, it is my safe color BUT I also am not afraid of prints and bright colors. And don't get me started on sparkly tops - I want them all!

I am so happy there are more and more plus size representation coming out in mainstream. I had reached out to Jenny after reading to let her know that her acknowledgements made me emotional. I love that she praised other authors who are writing plus size characters and for inspiring her and then plus size community that is out there. It just meant a lot to know there are others out there like me.

Check this book out if you like What Not To Wear mixed with Queer Eye!

PS - As a Pennsylvanian, I love the Gritty shoutout!

Mini Audiobook Review: 3.5 - I am not sure how to feel about this book. I enjoyed listening to it but there was nothing really outstanding from it either.

I was hooked on the story to find out why Harlow had to keep running and honestly even as I got to the end I still am not entirely sure why her mother was always on the run? Like things happened that we learned in the end but I just don't understand why it was enough for her to be on the run? Perhaps I missed something?

It is hard to say more about the story without giving away too much. I felt bad for Harlow having to figure out so much without her mom there. I just can't imagine being a kid and having to just up and move and constantly take on new identities. It's a lot for someone young to handle. And she did not prepare Harlow to be an adult at ALLLLLL.

The audiobook was done well & I enjoyed both narrators. That was helpful with the timelines.
