I always enjoyed reading JQ. Her books have silly humor and wit which doesn't need me to really concentrate.
I liked Daphne in the first half of the book and felt happy that she was getting back to her original state by the end.
Simon could have been a little better if he stopped his self-pity but well, I guess having an idiot for a father does that to people.
Anthony was so protective of his sister, it got a little annoying, given that he is the hero of the next book.
Violet, I totally loved her. She always made me smile.

I totally enjoy reading JQ's books. This started beautifully but as the story progressed I began to get irritated by Frannie. For someone who is a Bridgerton by birth, I expected her to be more clear in her thoughts.
How can she not want to think about something, so important as her life and Micheal's? The constant stream of "I don't know!" and "I don't want to think is infuriating" especially since Micheal confesses his love for her. She could see just how much the man was hurting but well, it did not seem to affect her.
I totally began to wonder if she was even worthy of a love like that. And to think she realized her feelings when she thought he'd die! Stupid, totally!
But what made me give the book a 3 star, is how beautifully JQ has written about Micheal's emotions and turmoil. Violet though has very little space in the book, she makes her mark.

A Madness in Spring by Kate Noble: A pretty ordinary story though I liked Georgie.
The Summer of Wine and Scandal by Shana Galen: This story was good. Considering it belonged to the Regency era where the heroines had to be virgins, this story was refreshing to read. The emotions were not forced and sounded natural.
Those Autumn Nights by Theresa Romain: Not all second chances stories are good to read, but this was nice. From showing Eliza as a spoilt rich brat to a confused girl, gave me the true perspective of the character. The flaws were natural and nothing OTT.
The Season for Loving by Vanessa Kelly: I was eager to read about Georgie's story. She was after all the binding link throughout the book. We get to see her fun side as ever and clearly, she is the hero of the book.
Overall, a decent enough read to pass time.

It was a pretty enjoyable book without too many complications to the plots.
MAY I HAVE THIS DUKE? by Grace Burrowes 3.5
I liked the banter between Hardcastle and Ellen. It feels good o read characters who can have a sensible and witty conversation. The end seemed a bit rushed, probably because she was nearing the word limit.
DUCHESS OF SCANDAL by Miranda Neville 4
I've always had mixed feeling about second chance stories; they could go wrong so easily! But, this one was good. Both parties were at fault and it was good to see them realize their mistakes and give themselves a chance to rekindle their love.
WAITING FOR A DUKE LIKE YOU by Shana Galen 2.5
Somehow this story fell flat to me. The characters couldn't connect.
AN UNSUITABLE DUCHESS by Carolyn Jewel 3
I liked Gerogina, or Geroge as everyone called her. She was full of life and straightforward. The duke seemed a bit too stiff, but his display of emotions at the climax was enough to reassure the reader that George will be happy with him.

There are times when I go reading the Regency books back to back. This is one of those times.
I liked Beth. She was good, kind and witty. One line described her perfectly- "I need to be needed."
Alex was introduced as an arrogant ass, but layers were gradually peeled to show his insecurities and flaws. It made him more likable and real.
The killer wasn't much of a suspense for me because around half the book I guessed it would be someone they did not suspect. A few more pages and I was sure who it was.
The friendship between Alex and Beth progressed pretty well with romance thrown in. The grandmother was a lovable character.
Overall a good book. Can read it more than once.
