This is an outstanding collection, full of impactful comics showcasing creativity and thoughtfulness. Really impressed and so glad I read this.
I should have read a blurb of this book so I'd have known what I was getting into when I started this book, since it was a different story than I was expecting for whatever reason. I wasn't in the right kind of mood really when I started this book, but it kept my attention nonetheless, and since it took a while to slowly read it, most of that experience was mitigated by time. This is a really moving story, and Marvin's voice was the power behind that. It's a small and big story simultaneously, only a few characters but big themes and a lot to grapple with.
So good! A great premise, even better characters, non-stop action and humor and gaming references, amazing art, this book is the total package.
This is the sweetest picture book.
Kind of slow starting and often confusing, but touching and beautifully done.
A creepy freaky excellent return to the world of NOS4A2.
Always a treat to return to a favorite setting, and the careful kind writing of Seanan McGuire. I'm so excited to see books four and five have been announced!
Hey Ladies!: The Story of 8 Best Friends, 1 Year, and Way, Way Too Many Emails
Caroline Moss, Michelle Markowitz
This book is such a wonderful trash fire of nonstop laughing and cringing. I loved the Hey Ladies series on The Toast, and the authors did a really excellent job adapting the originals into this book, fleshing the characters out more completely and developing a longer plot arc. I read half of this book out loud to a great friend on a road trip, and it was so fun, highly recommend.
Silk, Volume 0: The Life and Times of Cindy Moon
Tana Ford, Annapaola Martello, Ian Herring, Robbie Thompson, Travis Lanham, Stacey Lee, Dave Johnson
The best superhero graphic novel I've read all month by a bunch, Silk just blew me away. I loved this story, laughed often, and Lee's artwork is SO cute. Such a delight.
