The worldbuilding in this is interesting, but wow, so very cruel.

A powerful story based on the writer's life and family. In this graphic novel, Kiku, a mixed race teenager is transported (displaced) back in time to the 1940s, where her grandmother and great-grandparents are moved into an internment camp along with many other Japanese Americans. A story about memory, intergenerational trauma, and the importance of making sure that the past doesn't happen again. This came out in 2020, and the present-time storyline focuses a lot on Trump's candidacy and his views.

A cute M/M romance. Some of the jokes were way too cheesy, but it was nice.
