Graphic: Bullying, Child abuse, Domestic abuse

Dana: what he did was our equivalent of rape
also Dana: if it was anyone's fault, it's mine
girl.
for a harem romance, this had way too much jealousy, internalized misogyny and "no homo" for my taste. it was my first dip into the genre but I'm not convinced

I received a copy of this from Netgalley.
This was... not enjoyable.
First of all, the writing style reads more like a report of the events than an actual novel. Just one action after another without any real feeling, characterization or heart. The boys are kind of stereotypical monsters... until the end, when they're just weird.
Like, all along they were fine with kidnapping these women, and then I'm supposed to believe they thought they were doing the right thing, and they're so horrified that the women might actually die? And then the epilogue does a complete 180 degree turn on Ingrid's personality? Twists have to make SENSE, y'all. That Ingrid turn did NOT make sense.
Not to mention that the book kind of changes the genre on you in the last third without any real buildup.
tldr; writing style is utterly unenjoyable, characterization is all over the place.

Almost everyone in this book is a shitty person in a non-entertaining way, but specially the guy who got murdered. Good riddance.
