I'm really not sure how I felt about this one.
It was moderately funny in a dry way. But again, another book filled with people I didn't like. Now I don't need to like characters to root for them but I need to feel something about them. I'm not sure I did. There was a slight sense of dismay at the end and then a shrug. Play with fire etc. This is like my sister the serial killer. Everyone in it was horrible. I enjoyed the premise and I enjoyed how it was written but I didn't really care what happened to anyone.

There are some utterly excruciating sentences in this novel.
I didn't care about anyone in this book more than the poor little sugar glider.
Someone else described this book as a vibe and that's just perfect I think. There's no substance. There's an appearance of substance.
I'm bored of reading about cliched people who make terrible life choices for no reason. Or for reasons like because my parents didn't love me properly. I mean. Urgh.
I give it a 2 stars because there were a couple of lines that did feel worth thinking about twice. And Eleanor was a good character. And I liked Santiago.

Meh. The themes were interesting and provide a decent backdrop to the next 3. But it didn't meet its potential. It felt like it nibbled around the edges of the themes without taking a proper bite. There were some good characters but I didn't feel like we got a good enough depth of some of them. All in all it just missed the spot I think.
