shona_reads_in_devon 's review for:
Cleopatra and Frankenstein
by Coco Mellors
There are some utterly excruciating sentences in this novel.
I didn't care about anyone in this book more than the poor little sugar glider.
Someone else described this book as a vibe and that's just perfect I think. There's no substance. There's an appearance of substance.
I'm bored of reading about cliched people who make terrible life choices for no reason. Or for reasons like because my parents didn't love me properly. I mean. Urgh.
I give it a 2 stars because there were a couple of lines that did feel worth thinking about twice. And Eleanor was a good character. And I liked Santiago.
