Another great one from Grady! I feel this was the most thought out book, so far. He put a lot of work into it with the various articles and papers and reviews at the start of each chapters. The creation of entirely new retro slasher films for this book's universe (Scream and Friday the 13th, and possibly Heather's Dream King was Freddy Kreuger?) which made this book almost a fun AU adventurous look into what happens to the girls that are sole survivors at the end of horror movies.

I also enjoyed some of the chapter articles and parallel symbolism he was making between the torture and pain these women go through just for others' entertainment. The male gaze reducing a woman's body to an object onto which they project or act out their dark desires. Even after surviving the worst torture, bodies mangled and destroyed, humiliation, and no offers of help, women are brushed aside as weak when they have survived more than any man ever will.

Thanks Spiderverse, now I gotta catch up and read what I can about Miguel (and hopefully Hobie next). He is definitely the more serious of all the Spider-mans. Not enough fangs to keep me interested after I read the 7 volumes I picked up at the library LOL.

2.5. I'm getting tired of all these other Marvel characters just getting jam packed into here. Yes, I've read Marvel and Spider-man before and I started back when the Ultimates began. It was nice having a reboot and focusing on just Spider-man and his life and villains. My brain hurts with all the villains and all the Marvel characters (future and present) just popping up for a few chapters. It doesn't leave much room for character development for Miguel.

Oh, Sonny seems like a cool character-
SpoilerNever mind. X_X

I got through the first few chapters okay but the writing is mid and there wasn't anything new or special or gripping about it so I just went "eh" and moved on to the next book in my TBR pile.

I could NOT stop laughing while reading this. It was amazing and super hilarious and a great time! I'll have to check out Benji's other comics!
