This was so engrossing... I'd find myself reading it in huge chunks before pausing for a breath. Such a beautifully written story, and even the youngest and the most minor of characters are richly complex. I found myself deeply invested in their lives and stories. This is an incredible debut, and I'm so excited to read her next book.
This was so delightful, and also thought-provoking. A collection of poems and stories that offer a different perspective or backstory on the fairytale cannon. Each piece was quite short, and some of them were linked together (in that they were all based on the same fairytale). I really enjoyed this one, and it's one I think I'll revisit.
A book-length fairytale with a timeless feel, this is a story set over a year, where each month is a different section of the book, allowing the story to come full circle at its end.
I think this might be one of my faves of this series. It's sooo twisty, and Nesbo has this way of redirecting your attention with each section of the book, so that you have to wait and see how things turn out.
A variety of stories about the depth and complexity of the mundane. These stories give you a slice of life that captures the shades of grey in family relationships: love, hurt, loss, duty, and how they are gently balanced in the face of tragedy, identity, and hardship.
With every new book, Jane Harper gets better and better. I was hooked from the very beginning of this one by the mystery, and the complexity of the story. The characters were multifaceted, and the story was so compelling that I couldn't put this book down.
