Why....Why...Why did I start another Sarah J. Maas series that isn't done being published?! I do this to myself! I just know I'm gonna be hungover after marathoning the books that are out and then be left empty until like 2019.
I love LOVE LOVEEEEE how sassy Celaena is! Her dialogue with everyone is amazing but especially with Chaol and Dorian. I adored her friendship with Nehemiah and their bond. The magic element was quite subtle and more paranormal than what I was expecting after reading ACOTAR but I enjoyed it none the less. The betrayal at the end surprised me even though I kinda hated the girl but felt bad for her too.
Reading the Assassin's Blade really helped me digest the whole book since I already knew Celaena and how she got to who and where she was. That allowed me to focus more on the creation and development of this new part of the world and the new characters. I kind of wanted there to be more information or something about the warriors as they or right before they were being killed. Their murders are just kind of talked over and used to move the plot along.
Really excited to read the next book! (and finally meet Rowan. Everyone talks about the dude and I kept waiting for him to show up but I got to the end and he still wasn't there! lol)

*jaw dropped* omg, I am excited for Heir of Fire! Ah! The ending! Yes! Fairies and long lost royalty are the greatest tropes ever!
I really liked the character and relationship development of all the characters. Mort the statue was freaking hilarious but the book itself has a much more serious tone than Throne of Glass did (there's still some light fun and banter but only in the first half really). Loved the betrayal and the mystery. Celaena knows how to take revenge! Savage! we got a really different side of her since her savageness and ruthlessness as an assassin has been mentioned but never showed. So happy I have the sequel already so I can pick it up tomorrow morning

I think I just need to stare off blankly for a few moments...
I thought the first 3/4 was really interesting to see all the character, relationship, world, and "sides" developed. I don't know why but I wanted to love Manon the whole time! I need Aelin and Rowan to seal the freaking deal! My heart still hurts about Sortia and Dorian. I am really happy that we have moved past the whole Chaol and Aelin fling and he has moved on.
The last quarter of the book just screwed over my mind. I wasn't totally sure where the plot was going but then so much unraveled all at once over the last few chapters and OMG am I excited for Empire of Storms now!
There's so many cute side character romances and there's so many loveable scenes. I can't decide if I like Aedion on his own but I know I love him and Lysandra. I hope we get to see more of Lysandra's shapeshifting abilities in Empire.
I am super excited to read Tower of Dawn after seeing just how much Chaol evolved. So much of what he thought and was raised for has been challenged over the last few books. Dorian and Chaol bromance forever!

NOOOOO! 😱😱😱😱😱
Why did I start this series before it was done being published?! I have so many emotions right now *frantic head shake staring at wall*
I love Lysandra and Manon to death. They've both evolved so much! Maeve is the dictionary definition of "long-term plotting bitch." I'm very surprised with Dorian's love life and curious to see how that goes. Him and Elide have to get a happy ending or I'm rioting...kinda hate Lorcan right now...like a lot... *tries to laugh but cries* why do I let Maas do this to me?
NOTE FROM REREAD: this book hurts my soul

Plot was pretty low key but it was just some fun events/activities with my fav crew but it also showed you how different people cope with things.
I got wayyyy too emotionally invested in this originally trilogy for my sanity. I love all the characters and the ships and politics and betrayals and surprises. I need more Feyre and Rhys and I hope they'll at least appear in the rest of the series (that are different POV I believe). I feel kinda empty now that I'm done it--just like the book hangover Illuminae and Gemina gave me.
Dear lord, I forgot how massive this book was but I finally FINISHED IT! 😀 It's been so long since I read it that I had forgotten most of it so I kept being pleasantly surprised and re-falling in love with it
I finished and I loved it! I had forgotten like 75% of this book. Super excited to start Drums of Autumn next month
