Omg baby drama 18th century style! I love all the characters but they're so freaking scattered throughout the book! I want them all together! I loved that Jamie got to see both his children again and that Bree and Roger finally sealed the deal. I'm excited but also terrified for this season of the TV show! Please don't ruin it with bad Indigenous rep!

This is easily one of the best books I ever read. Everything was amazing and I am so excited to get the next two book. Highly recommended for anyone who likes epic, fast paced, world building, strong women, monarchies, magic and hidden lineage.

I absolutely love this author. This whole book is perfect to me with the romance and magic and politics and betrayal...I am moving the conclusion up in my TBR

This whole series is so well written! Each book is better than the last but I can't pick a favourite. The character development and relationship building are done with such grace that I can't believe this is Raasch's debut! There's likeable secondary characters that I loved and don't distract from the leads that I also loved and hated! Thankfully, not everyone gets a happily ever after and a solid conclusion to a series.

Know what?! I didn't hate this! I actually got a lot of Once Upon A Time vibes which is exactly what I wanted! Also, why did no one tell me there's dragons in this book?!

This book was interesting. On its own it's just a regular competition in space but without cheesy love (and can I get an amen for how rare that is?!). The cast is quite racial diverse too which is fantastic to see.

I am more interested in the sequel though. The corporation is clearly doing some crazy shit and manipulating people so much! I need to know why and how everything goes down now!

it's kind of like a mash up of The Hunger Games with Illuminae? I get the feeling it's more of an introduction to the series which is gonna get better. I find books like that are generally unreadable but this was cool.

A quick and easy read that is great for anyone in a book slump

Oh I liked this! Kind of in love with Maggie too. The only thing stopping me from a 5 stars is I needed more background information about the world to flesh it out. It seemed the info given was limited and only mentioned if it was directly associated with the event happening at that moment. DEFINITELY picking up the sequel.

PS the cover is beautiful in person!

So this is the third book in my life that has made me cry. It's heartbreaking and despite being a middle grade book, does absolute justice on the topic of the WWII invasion of Poland and Auschwitz. This book went there! YA books don't even tend to go there. it's not a fairytale ending. It beautifully balances being horrifying (to scare a middle grade audience) while also emphasizing the true acts that took place in this time and place.

The magic element made it bareable to read and really emphasized that we all have a choice to be good or bad and that choice will be our legacy.

The illustrations are absolutely stunning and my only complaint is that there weren't more of them.

I originally borrowed this book from the library but now I'm going to buy my own copy.
