extremely compelling and a gorgeous art style. I really commend Shima Shinya for being able to keep to their style and express diverse and recogniseable characters throughout. really fantastic, excited to read the next one!

I can't tell you just how badly I need this translated now. docking .5 points because there's no way this would happen in real life the way it does here and that makes me unbelievably upset

the final part was much more relevant and interesting to me (having already been through enough therapy to know pretty much the whole first 3/4 of the books revelations) but I'm still not entirely sure if I would recommend this book to anyone who isn't Korean. it's just not as culturally relevant in the West as it is there. this isn't a negative, per se. also, I was a little perturbed as to the psychiatrist naming so many "conditions" that the author might have and not worrying very much about her medicine dosage - it's not entirely clear if she was warned that they were upping her dosage. I'm pretty sure this is also just... a Korean thing, for lack of better ways to phrase it.

this is not my usual type of nonfiction. ill definitely keep a look out for documentaries on the topic - I know very little of Pakistan and would perhaps even prefer to see sides of it that have less to do with the USA. the authors presence is very looming here, also, which I'm not a fan of in non fiction.

a funny look into colonial Korean life. a very good translation too!

a considerable collection of essays. I learned quite a bit reading these, although, as usual, some of them could have benefited from being less... verbose.

claudia my love...

Not entirely sure what happened towards the end, but still a compelling story. The ending felt like it was fizzling out a little, but that's common with yuri stories like this. There's never a future for lesbian couples in school etc etc, especially not with Japan's view on us. At least their relationship was healthy?

an easy read. lots of personal anecdotes, less science-focused than other books on autism but I didn't mind that so much. read this before my own assessment to see if there was anything else to add to my "huh, that sounds like me! maybe I have autism" list.
