I spent most of this book confused..and not in a good way, strictly because of the writing. Unfortunately, I don't think that was the author's intent. I won't be continuing with the series.

As someone that has never read/listened to/watched Six of Crows or Les Miserables...I liked it. The story captured my attention and I adored Ettie's personality. The small plot twists were lovely and the ending made my heart flutter. Overall, knowing (or really not knowing) anything about the inspiration behind the characters and story made the story unique in my eyes.
