As someone that has never read/listened to/watched Six of Crows or Les Miserables...I liked it. The story captured my attention and I adored Ettie's personality. The small plot twists were lovely and the ending made my heart flutter. Overall, knowing (or really not knowing) anything about the inspiration behind the characters and story made the story unique in my eyes.

Edit 1/2/22: I liked the story at the time but I honestly don't remember a thing about the plot or even character names.
