Thanks to the author for asking me to be on her arc team.

Cat is a high powered attorney who is going to be doing a prenup agreement for her sister's friend, Bunny. She's shocked to find out that the fiance is none other than Max who broke her heart years ago. There was a lot of misunderstanding between the two as to what went wrong, but there's still hurt and love they will have to navigate through.

I wasn't a fan of chapter 5 (which the author had a content warning for at the beginning of the book) but it's easily skipped if you don't want to read it. I didn't like the surprise at the end as that's my least favorite trope. But other than that.. it was a well done and often tense debut

I have to be honest first off I was about to be mad at this book if they did not include any of Ragne, but we got a little bit of her and so I was satisfied.

This book started off with the start of a cult. As usual Vanja was just trying to get by and it started by accident. But then a supposed lower god, The Scarlet Maiden, surprises her and gives her an ultimatum. Sacrifice her love or her family.

So this book unwinds the lies that she's been taught her whole life. It takes Vanja and Emeric on the journey to find these seven brothers to get a drop of flood from each of them so they don't have to sacrifice Emeric to the Scarlet Maiden. I like that we get to see Vanja find her family that has been missing her for 13 years.

I was surprised at who the Scarlet Maiden actually turned out to be! I like that this book took modern issues of consent into play with Vanja and Emeric growing closed together.  Now I'm really excited for book 3

I had fun with this retelling of The Goose Girl. I don't know the real tale so I didn't know what to expect with this book. But oh wow!

There is Princess Gisele/servant Vanja (who is also a goddaughter of Death and Fortune) swapped lives, thievery, Ragne who can shape shift (and a fav of mine), an evil & nasty Prince, a jr prefect Emeric (taught in the ways of magic who tries to catch the thief known as Penny Phantom) and so much adventure!

Ragne was such a fun side character/magical daughter! She was funny and endearing and so protective of those she came to love. Gisele was a spoiled Princess who, through her life being stolen by Vanja, learned and grew at the orphanage she took refuge at. Vanja, I felt, learned to stand up for herself and be her own person in a great way. I liked watching Emeric and Vanja go from enemies to more!

This book was cute but I found it lacking a bit in the romance department. I liked the two that got together but i wasn't too invested in their relationship - I wish it went a bit deeper. BUT on a very positive note, I'm looking at it as miss of a woman's fiction and her needing to grow! I really liked the change the MCF made from her time in Montana.  I wish we got more of Mina as she was my favorite character. (Maybe a book with her? 🤞)

It did really make me think about how much time I spend on my phone and it really made me appreciate what I do with Instagram and that I never want to turn it into a business... Just too much work and time.

Thanks to Uplit Reads for the book.. All opinions are my own.

Imagine being a simple man with a simple job and you answer a ringing telephone and imagine your life changes.... How would you go about your new circumstances?

This is what happened to Orlov. This book was just non-stop! Because of the simple action of answering a telephone Orlov is thrown into a plot of a party that wants to kill the current king. Is constantly being thrown into situations that he doesn't quite know how to figure out until he just does figure it out. It was quite clever how he always seemed to come out on top even though he doesn't know what he's doing.

I would definitely read another book by this author!

Declan is so grumpy that it seemed too much to me at times but as we read his and Iris's story, we get to see the softy underneath. It's no wonder he is grumpy, I would be too if I had his father!

So he has to get married and have a baby in order to secure his future position as CEO as per his Grandfather's will... Enter Iris. She's been working for Declan for 3 years and when she agrees to marry him (after a disaster of another prospect) Declan is floored.

But the banter these two have and how Iris took no crap from him (even when he was really offensive) made for such a great story. The way that Iris started to soften that hardened exterior of his was so, so swoony. The little things that Declan did for Iris in the 3 years before all this happens is so heartwarming!

Eden became a star at 16 and now in her mid-30s has not had her newest album sell very well. Her manager suggests touring with Anna, an up and coming pop singer, to help sell out the tour.
Eden reluctantly agrees but very soon , sparks fly between the two stars.

The book has queer representation and the rep of someone figuring out their sexuality later in life. I couldn't help but love these two women. I liked how we got to see how a big musical tour might be and the challenges that come with it.

This was a beautiful story. Amazing ASL representation - Otis is deaf, he meets Evelyn who knows a little sign and he teaches her more.

Evelyn dates his brother Dean until something tragic happens to Evelyn and Dean leaves. Years later, Otis and Evelyn are best friends. They've always been close but a shared, scary night brings them even closer. As feelings shift and change, the two begin to trust each other with their past trauma and love blooms. It's threatened at times but they just grow this incredible bond!

This book made me cry and I got angry at what happened in the past. I was especially mad at how Dean handled it. I loved that the people in Otis's life learned ASL so they could communicate better with him and it was beautiful.

Cute little novella set during Christmas time for Calla and Jonah. They have both sets of parents come to stay. They know there will be tension.

I liked that they decided to have a smaller wedding because of certain circumstances with Jonah's mom. I wish we got a better feel of why Jonah's stepdad acts like a dick towards him and vice versa.

As I have said in the previous books, I still really love Roy. He's so grumpy but never turns down the opportunity to help when necessary!

This book was such an amazing look into this world of Fey and Arlo is such a great protagonist! I can't believe the things that happen in his life (that I can't explain for fear of spoilers) but the way he takes to truths without much complaint is incredible.

There are back and forth from the year 2002 back to 1902 and the 1940s but they all blended seamlessly into the bigger story.

I love how it connects to The Corpse Walker and the people we get to see from that book. They made me smile, but there's also something that made me really sad. It just makes me that more excited for all these different books and storylines and how they'll merge. The Dioscuri (okay I have to admit I didn't know what this was and had to look it up)
