This was a beautiful story. Amazing ASL representation - Otis is deaf, he meets Evelyn who knows a little sign and he teaches her more.

Evelyn dates his brother Dean until something tragic happens to Evelyn and Dean leaves. Years later, Otis and Evelyn are best friends. They've always been close but a shared, scary night brings them even closer. As feelings shift and change, the two begin to trust each other with their past trauma and love blooms. It's threatened at times but they just grow this incredible bond!

This book made me cry and I got angry at what happened in the past. I was especially mad at how Dean handled it. I loved that the people in Otis's life learned ASL so they could communicate better with him and it was beautiful.
