I also really wanted glasses in middle/high school and would have worn fake glasses

Sooooo good - and narrated by Marin Ireland! I think I will be thinking about this one for a while and really liked the story of a parent and child and the love they have for each other

Enjoyable rom com that was a quick audio book listen - and I did not see the twist coming of what caused the misunderstanding, perhaps I should watch more Hallmark channel-esque movies

Really enjoyed this book and the characters Elizabeth Zott met along the way (Calvin, Harriet, Walter, Mason, Wakely and of course Six Thirty) … and I thought the science sprinkled through was enjoyable.

The descriptions of how the male allies (like Calvin and Walter) sometimes didn’t even know what they didn’t know were very honest and probably more common than not.

I am not really familiar with the Arthurian legends - so not sure how different this was but from the afterward it sounds like it is very different. Listening to it as an audiobook sometimes it was confusing to me when it made the jumps to a potential future - maybe in the written version it is clearer

I am disheartened to learn I am the worst kind of person (the kind who likes pineapple on their pizza), but reassured that striving for perfection is not ideal…. So I will keep ordering pineapple on my pizza.

I loved the Good Place - and this was like a chance to remember all the things I liked about it (and a reminder to binge it again sometime soon)

I love the books by Helen Hoang I have read, and this one too - but parts of this were heartbreaking! How could Anna’s family treat her like that? Priscilla was TERRIBLE!

Still, I appreciated the journey - and was happy to drop in again on some favorite characters (like Quan and Michael and Khai)

While I have not been in the situation before of autistic burnout, the timeline of recovery at the end (not weeks or months but years) I imagine to be realistic and I appreciate that too

I seem to be on a roll lately with books that are good (maybe even very good) but I just don’t enjoy. Maybe because the history of what the US has done to Puerto Rico is terrible… and Blanca was awful… but maybe the fact that was my reaction is more support that this is a very good book because it made me react so strongly with anger

Full disclosure, I listened to this audiobook while multitasking so I am probably right off the bat not *really* ready to overcome distractions...

Some of this was useful - but other parts felt like it was explaining something that was pretty obvious. For example, I don't think many people would be surprised to find out technology is a distraction. But that section felt long to me as it was convincing people that technology is a distraction. And the kicker of "try a technology detox" felt kind of obvious.

“I claimed a life that was bigger than I was… a presence in the world that was larger than the one I was told I could have”

I believe this story can be interpreted from a lot of points of view - gender, race, LBTQ+, and on and on. My middle schooler listened to part of the audio book with me, and jumping into the middle, even he understood… rage is a universal feeling I suppose.
