It was interesting!
My grandma gave me it to check out when I asked her about some wellness books. I’m just pretty young, so I couldn’t relate to a lot of the material. It says lifelong, but it was definitely targeted to middle-aged adults and older, and a lot of it felt obvious. Probably a good starter for people who don’t know a lot about health or wellness.

This story was so heartbreakingly beautiful, and it’s told in such a unique way. It’s been a while since I’ve read a book I felt so attached to that I didn’t realize what page I was on. I stayed up late a few nights in a row reading this, not wanting to put it down.
Evelyn is a very complex person, but at the same time, I think she’s very simple. She did everything for love, both romantically and not, and I think that’s what makes her such an interesting character... It’s easy to hate her but also admire her. She’s so incredibly human, yet she seems otherworldly.
I would reread this book in a heartbeat, for the characters, interactions, and setting of 20th century Hollywood. This was definitely one of my favorite reads of the year so far, and I think it’s one of those books that will stick with me for a long time.

I already know a lot about the law of attraction, but this is definitely an interesting book for those who are just getting into it. I will say that I recommend learning more about it from other resources before or after, since there is really no correct way to use the law of attraction.
The one thing I didn’t like about this book was that it repeatedly said if you want to manifest good things you must always be happy. In my opinion, you can still manifest good things into your life, even when you are unhappy. If you just really believe something is coming into your life, it will.

I loved this book! It was definitely not what I expected, as in between all the humor, the story is very sad. Eleanor was such an interesting character and narrator, and I enjoyed being able to see her rediscovering herself and working through her past.
I also loved seeing Raymond and Eleanor’s friendship evolve, they had so many sweet moments.

This book is really interesting, but it is written very bluntly, in a way that people might not like. I think that reading any books in the self-help genre can be beneficial, but you have to pick and choose what you decide to take from them. They’re just catalysts, not really solutions, like some people expect.
That being said, there were some things I liked about this book and some things that I didn’t necessarily agree with. Either way, there’s a lot of good insights from this book that I’ll probably take with me and think about for the future. :)

Everyone seems to have really strong opinions on this book, but I can't say that I lean one way or the other. I liked this book, but I definitely didn't love or hate it. There are a lot of inspirational ideals that you would probably find in a self-help book, and a lot of illusions to the law of attraction. I thought it was a nice story, but I'm not sure I felt utterly changed by the message. I would just read it to form your own decision, the sentiments are nice whether you enjoy it or not!
I enjoyed reading this book, especially since I am also from Oklahoma. It was interesting to see the Great Depression/Dust Bowl in a fictionalized world that is historically accurate. I think this is the first book that I've read from this time period that is actually based in the Midwest. I'm honestly surprised we didn't have to read this at my high school, it would have been one of the readings I liked more.

I’m biased because I’m absolutely in love with this show and these characters, but like other reviewers have said, the netflix adaptation is definitely better! Overall, I enjoyed reading the story in the original format and seeing where it all came from.
One thing I did appreciate from the comic is the extent of Klaus’s powers. He’s my favorite character, and I hope we get to continue to see his powers grow in the show.

While this book took me a bit longer to read than usual, I was surprised by how much I read in one sitting. I really enjoyed it! The writing is pretty fast-paced, and though it takes about 50 pages to really get into the story, there are still interesting parts in the beginning.
I feel like I'm contradicting myself by giving this book a 5 star review, as it did fall a little flat looking back. I was a bit disappointed by the ending, mostly because I felt like the characters didn't have any growth, and the majority of them were pretty boring. In my opinion, the best parts of the entire book were the ones with Luc, and that was mostly why I read so much in one sitting. I was trying to get to the parts with him.
