I would give this book 3.5 stars, just because I was a little disappointed. I was really excited to read it because the description sounded like a mystery/thriller that continued in between two different time periods. Unfortunately, the story wasn't like that at all. There were really two completely separate stories going on that didn't really connect at all. I also didn't really care about the modern day storyline that much.

The writing itself is good, I just think I went in with really high expectations since the description is a little misleading. Unrelated, but I really do love the cover.

I loved this story. For a book that took place in one day and detailed almost every hour, it had incredible pacing, and I was never once bored.

I didn’t cry like I expected to, but it did make me think more about the way I live my life… I’m not sure if I appreciate that or not lol. Also, both of the main characters were so likable and I found I could easily relate to them. I will miss Rufus and Mateo :(

A fun read featuring one of my favorite Marvel characters!

This was such a fun and sweet story! I picked this up originally because I'm a huge fan of the Umbrella Academy, so I would definitely recommend for anyone who's a fan of that, or simply misfit of families coming together to find out what home really is. All of the characters were absolutely perfect and written so well. This was a fascinating world and novel, I loved it!

This was a really interesting book about the Mafia and the history of organized crime. It always takes me a long time to read nonfiction pieces, but this one was pretty easy to read. It goes through the years 1920-1980, in just 273 pages, so you get a bit of information about many different people and events. I would definitely recommend this one to anyone interested in this subject!

I was a little confused during this book, and maybe it was because I hadn’t read anything set in this universe before, but the characters kept getting mixed up in my head. Also I found it a bit difficult to follow the story until about halfway through.

I also wish the characters would have been a little older. They all seemed like they would be in their 20s-30s, but some of them were barely teenagers. Maybe I just had really high expectations. Overall though, I thought this story was very fun! I will probably read the sequel.

My first spooky read of the season!

This was one of the few books of the year I had trouble putting down and stayed up late to read. I didn’t necessarily find it scary, but there were definitely some creepy and gruesome moments. Overall, I thought the book was pretty sad, especially considering Merry can’t really remember what happened.
