The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue
by V.E. Schwab
While this book took me a bit longer to read than usual, I was surprised by how much I read in one sitting. I really enjoyed it! The writing is pretty fast-paced, and though it takes about 50 pages to really get into the story, there are still interesting parts in the beginning.
I feel like I'm contradicting myself by giving this book a 5 star review, as it did fall a little flat looking back. I was a bit disappointed by the ending, mostly because I felt like the characters didn't have any growth, and the majority of them were pretty boring. In my opinion, the best parts of the entire book were the ones with Luc, and that was mostly why I read so much in one sitting. I was trying to get to the parts with him.
Don't get me wrong, this has definitely been one of my favorite books that I've read this year. It's very well written, and the story has an interesting plot. I just wish there would've been more development in all of the characters, as Addie seemed to go through the same cycles. It's worth a read for sure, though, as it's a very entertaining and interesting tale! I'd probably give it 4.5 stars.
