Pandering fan service that was about 200 pages too long

This impacted me in a way I was not expecting. 

It did not work for me nearly as well as Firekeeper’s Daughter did so I think I will continue to pretend that was a standalone

Akwaeke Emezi is the literary genius of our time. No one writes like them. Truly a memoir to behold and devour. 

Utterly resplendent. Long may the YA horror trend last

Every time I think about this book I progressively get more annoyed 😭 It had so much potential, only to be thrashed by its incessant references to modernity. Ash was a fascinating character and yet we barely got a taste of her. Bring back good editors
