This wanted to be Cemetery Boys, ended up more like Cassidy Blake, and also fundamentally misunderstood its intended demographic. There was completely unexplored classism, the disability and trans rep felt shoehorned in, and generally I do not trust anyone who puts this onto their rec lists. Like, holy shit.

This was fairly logicless, even for a YA. The relationship between Tom and Ivy was sweet but frankly that was the only saving grace of the book.

After my well known thoughts about The Trials of Apollo I was nervous about returning to the Riordanverse but then this absolutely negated all of my ill intent. An absolutely brilliant return to the world of Percy Jackson. This is my cosy fantasy 😤🫡

well at least i now know this flavour of horror is not for me!

This grabbed me more than most cosy genre fiction but it still felt like there was something missing. I think I just need to admit cosy isn’t me compliant.

I finally admit this author is painfully not for me, which is ironic as someone who is typified by Typing Like This to put my own points across online

Ira Levin is a master of extremely readable, unsettling horror

I don’t think I personally got anything new out of this. Saying that, definitely an important read for the more cynical out there. Had I been less far down my path away from that this definitely would have hit.
