We’ve been waiting for these two to find their HEA and it was just a steamy, sweet, & funny as readers could expect. They had a meet cute that was a little more hazardous than most – with Seth keeping Rueben calm as he was stuck in a wrecked vehicle perilously hanging off the side of a mountain. It was a good indication of where their relationship would go – moments of levity to keep their mind off of more serious concerns.

I’m not sure I’m as confident that Seth would be willing to risk so much for Rueben. It’s not like it can’t ever happen, just not right now. But then again, they’ve been dancing around each other for a bit so it was just a matter of time.

My biggest wish was that we’d get more of the ranch folks. The relationship of these guys to each other is one of the best things of the series. I’m enjoying seeing each one of them fall in love and the suspense element that ties the series together but I love their friend group and I really want to see more of that. I’d have loved to see Rueben and Keegan interact a bit more because what we did get was exactly what we’ve come to expect from these guys.

I always look forward to a book in this series and the romance between Seth & Rueben is no exception. It has always been a hoot to see Rue flirt so shamelessly with Seth and I was ready to see that come to fruition. The having to hide part could put some off and while I think that it didn’t quite fit the situation & Seth’s steadfast personality, I understand that Walker was going for an attraction that can’t be ignored. So excited that there are two more books coming!

**It really is better to read the entire series because there are elements that flow from one book to another.**

You feel sorry for Holly when you first meet her – her ex is a total *insert favorite bad word here*, he cheated on her with her best friend and then moved in with the woman right next door! But once Dom sets his sights on her … :) Holly is a good mom, a caring person, and quickly finds herself drawn to the broody hockey star. And is surprised to find that attraction reciprocated.

This is my first Las Vegas Vipers book so I don’t know what impression previous stories gave readers about Dom but based on Rule Breaker I loved him. He’s troubled but loves his sister and will do whatever he can to help her. He’s made himself a loner because he wants to keep his family & his history quiet. Forced to coach a little kids hockey team, he finds himself drawn to Holly and her son. Before he knows it he’s getting involved and letting other people into his own life. The way that has him growing closer to his teammates turns out to be just as pivotal for him as the relationship that develops with Holly.

Lynn’s latest is funny, angsty, sexy, and entertaining. She gives us characters we can root for, plenty of steam, a boatload of feels, and a HEA that just tugs at the heart. A bit of a warning – there are some sensitive topics discussed, but I don’t feel like she treated them lightly (although I’m no expert in any of them).

*Part of a series but can be read as a standalone.*

This is the first in this series for me (and only 3rd or 4th by this author) so I don’t have a lot to compare it to or any previous feeling for any of the characters. I liked Gavin and it helped getting his perspective so I was willing to give him a little grace – plus, his daughter is adorable – but if I was Penny I’m not sure how many second chances I would have given the man. He was rude WAY too many times to count as he struggled with his attraction to his daughter’s new teacher. And his new neighbor. Burned once, he finds it difficult to trust but the draw to Penny proves hard to resist.

Penny is a wonderful teacher and has a big heart. And a huge propensity to forgive, which is lucky for Gavin after he treats her poorly on more than one occasion. Sure, he apologizes each time and eventually shows himself to be the decent guy he is, but it does take a bit … he may be worth the wait tho :)

Unbreakable Love is a sweet read, with an enjoyable cast of characters, a sweetheart of a kid, a good balance between lighthearted and serious, and just a touch of heat. With the latest in the Kelley Family series, Lynn gives readers a good way to wrap up their summer beach reads.

(There are a few moments that I’m guessing would be beneficial to have read the previous book but Lynn does a good job of explaining what’s going on that it isn’t necessary.)

We pick up pretty much where Hard to Fake left off, with a misunderstanding on why Miles had to leave Brooke in Vail. She's still having to figure out what she's going to do with her business and he's worried about his grandmother & his attraction to his friend's sister. It doesn't take long for them to cross paths and find themselves back where they were before - in each other's lives and in each other's beds. But what happens when their feelings come into play?

Loving Miles & Brooke's story - the sass, the steam, and the care. Brooke is savvy and hardworking, putting her experience with creating her own social media brand to work for herself, her friends, and her family. Miles recognizes how important the team is to himself and his friends, his career and his grandmother's future. But he also finds Brooke way too hard to resist and is willing to take a chance to see what it could mean.

I like that Lawson doesn't take it in a too predictable direction. There's obviously going to be issues, because otherwise we wouldn't need another story to wrap things up, but about halfway through I was guessing what the cliff hanger would be and I was wrong, which is always a treat. Really looking forward to finding out how everything wraps up!

Y'all, I've never read a Peterson book before and I'm super glad that Cash was the first. Cash & Mollie are a lot of fun together. I liked that while they rubbed each other wrong at the beginning it really didn't take them long to develop a more positive relationship. Peterson could easily have leaned into the enemies-to-lovers trope but chose to pulled back a little there and I enjoyed that it was lighter on the angst.

Cash is a good person and while he's disappointed by the way things have turned out he just doesn't have it in him to take it out on Mollie for long. Drawn to her gumption and how she obviously cares about others, including him, Cash is there to support her too, to help her come to terms with her feelings about her dad, and to be there as she figures out where her heart lies.

It may be predictable but it still has all the feels ... and all the dirty talking cowboy that a reader could ask for. I'm looking forward to seeing what Peterson has in store for the rest of the Rivers boys. She's definitely teed us up for a good one with Wyatt :)

The blurb covers just a tiny bit of the story – the rest of it involves Greta & Grisham deciding if they want to be together, Grisham worrying over what he will do with the rest of his life now that he can’t be a SEAL (and what it means for their relationship), and a stalker that Greta somehow finds along the way.

I really like them as a couple because they have sparks and fun and sass that work well together. Greta’s issues with Grisham’s work feel realistic to me – from a logical perspective she spends a lot of her time waiting for him to screw up so that seems a little like she makes it happen, but in that situation she’s going to lead with her heart and so for me it is believable. I also appreciate how Grisham handles it and that seems true to me as well. I also like how he shows patience and understanding but doesn’t give up.

I do have a little concern about the business side of things (I’m not sure the way the cases are run is all that believable and if we are going to be told out about a case I’d like to know how things turn out ) but the stalker issue and the romance are well done. So overall, I am very satisfied and I’ll be keeping an eye out for others in this series.

Willa is hesitant to get involved again when her history hasn’t exactly been filled with good men. And King being 8 years younger doesn’t help her confidence in their suitability. But with patience and King shows that he’s all in.

He’s there for her as a coach for her niece’s peewee team. He’s there making calling and texting to show he’s thinking of her. He’s there to make a stand with her jerk of an ex. He’s there to bring her in to his world, with his friends and teammates. He also shows her how much he cares about those people. But that big heart also gets him into a little trouble with Willa.

So while their third act issues were obvious and handled in a predictable way, I enjoyed seeing King and Willa make their way to a HEA. It was nice to have a young, good-looking guy that was all about relationships and not the puck bunnies. And a decidedly smart, strong, level-headed woman who shows that she can make mistakes as well. And maybe just needs a little some help getting out of her way. (I do wish we’d seen more of Willa with her sister, but maybe she’ll show up in her own book :) )

Scott delivers a slow-burn story that isn’t big on action but has tons of emotion. Both Cam and Adam are struggling to find a path that works for them and meeting each other, spending time together and growing closer, could lead them to a wonderful future … if they can trust in themselves and each other.

Adam is still trying to figure out what his new normal is, and dealing with overly concerned friends and family is just making it worse. Living with constant pain and the devastation of losing his career is bad enough, but the pity and kid-glove treatment from those that love him just adds to his troubles. He hurts, emotionally and physically, but maybe new people to help is just what he needs.

Cam is dealing with the aftermath of his husband’s criminal activity and betrayals. An old friend from his past has found him a place to lie low until things calm down and he can figure out his next steps. He’s a good dad and a good man, who just got taken in by the wrong person, and he needs time to remember who he used to be. But a strong, undeniable attraction to Adam was not part of the plan.

I have enjoyed every book in this series and Scott once again delivers are winner. Adam and Cam are likable and caring people, who find themselves a bit battered by what life has thrown at them. But Adam’s house proves to be a place where they can get their feet under them, relax and learn to believe in themselves and others again. Their growing closeness, slowly developing into a supportive and caring family, makes the heart happy and leads to a HEA epilogue that gives all the smiles.

I love the Landry clan – every quirky, charming, grumpy, loving, boisterous part of it. Zander is the protector and his love for his family means he has to keep things going as smooth as possible & try to keep everyone out of trouble (ha!). So a beautiful woman in a wedding dress carrying a lion cub definitely doesn’t work for him. Caroline is just as fierce and strong, with a big heart. She’s spent most of her life trying to make sure that those doing wrong pay and her latest project has her in Autre for help, putting her right in Zander’s sights.

These Bayou books always bring a chuckle, a good bit of heat, and a lot of emotion. Nicholas knows how to bring characters that are entertaining & relatable and her writing is both humorous & heartfelt, combining to give readers a story that’s fun, low angst, easy-to-read, and quite satisfying.

This is a follow up to Seymour’s Let Me Show You and while it can stand on its own you really have a better understanding of the characters if you’ve read the first story. This one is more of a redemption story for Scott … and a reward for everyone who wanted Davis to find his own HEA.

I think my favorite part is that Scott’s behavior from the first story isn’t swept under the rug. Even though Carter has decided to forgive and forget, Scott (and those that know what he did) still has to come to terms with what he did and what it means for his future. It’s not easy for Scott, but with help he manages to make himself into someone he can face in the mirror again.

Davis is very supportive and understanding. I love his truth first attitude and how he sometimes is a little too blunt, especially for poor confused & repressed Scott. But he’s willing to be there for him, give him the time he needs to figure things out, and take slow steps together to make a solid friendship (and later something more).

For a new author, Seymour is certainly good at her craft. Her books go from lighthearted and humorous to overflowing with emotion and back again with ease. And her characters are just so darn appealing (even when they are recovering a**holes)! She says there are no plans for any more stories in this series, but with skills like her’s I’m sure that whatever direction she goes will be fabulous. She’s definitely going on my must read list :)
