I’ve never heard of this series but I saw Nina Croft on the cover and I knew I needed to give it a go. And she definitely didn’t disappoint!
John Ryan is struggling with his new state of being. A vampire-werewolf is something new and no one knows what to expect. He’s getting a little tired of everyone hovering but he also understands why they have to. He doesn’t even understand himself or know what to expect next so how can he expect anyone else to … then he meets Winter. And his instant and undeniable attraction to her just complicates an already overly-complicated situation.
Winter really wants to start over somewhere that people don’t have certain expectations about her – yes, she’s made mistakes, been a little flighty, and overly … enthusiastic sometimes but she’s older now. And she really wants the chance to prove herself. Babysitting Ryan may not be what she expected but if she can get him together with his nephew then maybe she can finally get her chance. Finding him super sexy and hard to resist is definitely not the best way to do that.
Bittersweet Christmas isn’t really a holiday read (Winter’s dad is Santa and it all starts with the letter) but it is definitely super enjoyable. There’s the perfect amount of heat and heart and danger to meet anyone’s wants. And now I’m super curious about what else is going on in the world that Croft has created :)
(This is the first in the series that I’ve read but it can easily be read on its own. Croft does a great job of keeping you in the loop of anything that you might need to know.)

There’s an interesting mix of things going on in In His Corner. Siena is a little uptight and secure in her gilded life. She volunteers to help the less fortunate, works in an ER (but at an upscale hospital) and gives to charity, but she doesn’t really know how the other half lives. Then Tommy steps into her life … and gives it a good shake.
At the beginning, we see her fighting her attraction for him because of his more coarse nature – he’s nothing at all like she’s used to. Then once they are together those differences continue to cause issues. I think I’d like a glimpse of how they work things out longer term (because they are so different) but I really loved the ending and the realizations that they come to.
It is less a book about a fighter than it is about a high-class girl and a working-stiff, but the old plotline works for a reason. In the hands of a good author, like Arno, it makes for a fantastic read.

a delightful mix of heart-ache and comedy. Making readers laugh and cringe along with Sidney and Tom … and crossing their fingers for a happy ever after ... to access the full review, please visit http://romanticreadsandsuch.wordpress.com/2013/01/23/asking-for-trouble/

I’m gonna have to agree with a few other reviewers – the prologue to this one is just about the cutest every. It beats out a meet cute by far!
I’m a big fan of the friends to lovers, although this one is a bit of a stretch. While Rachel & Jamie knew each other they weren’t really close – the age difference was a bit too much. It’s still a good read, though, as they reconnect as adults and discover a very mature attraction.
Some might get a little tired of Rachel’s issues with the age difference between the two. I get that it is probably a difficult thing to let go of, especially when you watched him grow up, but it is pretty hard to deny that Jamie is all man now :) And there is that one scene (you gotta have at least one) where you just want to smack Rachel for doing something stupid. But she did just end a pretty toxic relationship so she’s not quite got her mojo back. It’s a lot to take on all at once.
I will admit that Jamie drove this book for me. Rachel’s treatment of him was OK at best and awful at its worst (see above) but he was willing to wait it out and hope for good things to come – not sure why, but you gotta admire his stick-to-it-ness.
It was an enjoyable read as long as you don’t mind the push/pull from Rachel and a decent amount of angst throughout. I think that the book would have benefited from more positive interactions between the two, just to emphasize his attraction to her, but overall definitely worth the time.
**Review given honestly and freely after receipt of an advanced reader copy. This opinion is completely my own and was not influenced in any way.**

I always perk up when I see a new book by RJ Scott and she delivers once again. Each of these guys is so different, with their own unique problems that readers can get behind.
I love that big, strong Eric doesn't always want to be the one in charge. A guy of his size, with his job, looking the way he does ... you can easily see why people who want to be "rescued" are drawn to him. His instant attraction to Brady sends up some red flags but the pull is too strong to resist.
With Brady's issues you can easily see why he steers well clear of anyone like Eric. He's not helpless and it's hard to have people always wanting to take care of you. Since everything about Eric screams white knight, he's definitely not interested. Luckily, Eric isn't good at being ignored.
Not in the mood for a lot of drama, I enjoyed the fact that there was little angst here. Once Eric gets Brady to let him in a bit, things progress pretty easily. There are bumps, especially with Eric's job and Brady's reluctance to do anything outside of his house, but they are small ones. All about the sweetness and feels, Today winds its way smoothly from a meet-cute to a warm & fuzzy HEA.

I've featured a lot of Erin Nicholas's books, but have only managed to read a couple. Don't ask my why, I've really enjoyed the ones that I have read. And Flipping Love You is no different. Her characters are quirky, charming, and fun. The plot is interesting, the sex is steamy, and the ending is satisfying.
Jill is adorable in her efforts to keep her life outside of her penguins as uncomplicated as possible. Her solitary, independent life has worked for her until now but moving to Autre puts her in the path of the Landrys and their loud, boisterous, loving hearts. Especially, one particular Landry - sexy, funny, irresistible Zeke. It doesn't take her long to learn that things are done a little bit differently on the bayou ... and realize that maybe that's not so bad.
Nicholas's newest is a humor laden, relatively drama free, sizzling romance that is a perfect summer read. Returning readers are sure to love the chance to catch up with old friends and see Zeke meet his match. (But if this is your first visit to Autre, like me, you can easily keep up. Although you may be tempted to get ALL the books, like me :) )

Uniform Fetish: Manlove Edition
Lucy Felthouse, Gale Stanley, L.D. Blakeley, James Cox, Nicola Cameron, Pelaam, Tamsin Baker, Elizabeth Monvey, Lilith Duvalier
I loved how readers are given a delightful mix of stories, all centered around men in uniform. Military, law enforcement, emergency personnel – you name it, I’m sure you can find a story that will meet your particular fetish. Plus, since they are delivered from some of Evernight’s best, readers also get a nice mix of storylines – BDSM, suspense, contemporary. Each one isn’t very long, but coming from Evernight it is a sensual treat. And if M/M is your thing, they have a version to meet your needs as well.
Since it is an anthology, none of the stories are very long and give up a little in character & plot development, but the authors are great at their jobs so they still give you enough detail that you feel connected to the characters and their adventure. And being an Evernight book, I guarantee they are steamy enough to get you hot under the collar.
Perfect for those days when you just need (or only have time) for a little break, the Uniform Fetish books will leave you very satisfied.

an enjoyable tale of two people deciding if they are ready to take a risk on love - to access the full review, please visit http://romanticreadsandsuch.wordpress.com/2012/12/11/twice-the-trouble/
I'm an avid reader of Trentham's contemporary series but this is the first of her historicals I've read. (And it can easily stand on it's own so don't worry if this is your first too :) ) I found A Reckless Redemption to be a fun adventure. There's suspense and danger, love and sizzle, plus all the feels you could want. All of those wonderful things that make a good love story!
Bryn's somehow found herself in a whole mess of trouble and she's not sure why. Her step-sister is forcing her to marry (against her will) an abusive brute and Bryn's desperate to find a way out. How lucky for her an unrequited love from her childhood shows up at just the right time ... or maybe not because things get even more complicated.
Maxwell's life hasn't been easy. As a child he was treated horribly because he was the bastard son of a nobleman and only managed to survive due to kindness of others. After he left to join the military, there was war ... yeah, that's gonna leave some scars (inside and out). So while he's grown into a good man, he's got a lot of walls built up. Then he meets Bryn again and the poor man doesn't stand a chance.
I loved these two together. Maxwell tries to be all stern and standoffish but its really hard to hide that those walls are starting to crumble. All of his hardships have left him gun-shy but the man really needs someone to care for him. And no one on earth has a bigger heart that Bryn. She's forever taking care of others and it takes about two minutes for her to charm just about everyone she meets!
There's some shenanigans over the reason for the marriage and Maxwell's inheritance that lead them into all sorts of mischief and danger. Trentham makes sure it all wraps up nicely at the end but she does take you on quite the ride to get there.
While they may find themselves in a bit of trouble at the moment, if Bryn and Maxwell work together there is just about nothing that they can't overcome. As long as they are willing to take a chance with their hearts ... yeah, that leads to some troubles even more dangerous than the people trying to kill them! But you know they'll figure it out and manage to get a HEA before its all over.

I really don’t think the blurb gives Sadie enough credit … or maybe it’s just me that sees “free-thinking, colorful” and automatically thinks hippie :) And she totally isn’t. Yes, she’s got dyed streaks in her hair and she’s a little (ok, a lot) more bubbly than the oh-so-serious police chief but she’s definitely not the wild child I thought she’d be. She’s smart, funny and a good foil for the taciturn man in uniform who comes to help her after a break-in.
Thad has put himself in his own kind of prison after his brother went to jail. They were both young and stupid and he hates that he’s free while his brother is in a cell. He’s turned himself into an all-business cop who doesn’t have a life outside of his job and no real friends to speak of. And women are definitely not in his orbit. Until he meets Sadie and she has him thinking about things he hasn’t in years.
I adored these two together. Thad is great at settling Sadie when her fears get too much. His steady, strong presence helps her calm down enough that her professional mind can help her work through her issues. On the other side, Sadie touches a part of Thad that he’s locked away and helps him find the man under the uniform. She brings out laughter and fun that he’s been missing for way too long.
My only complaint, and this is common for Threntham’s stories, is that I definitely didn’t get enough! Even her full-length books are over too soon so you know that her novellas, while complete and satisfying, will always need more pages. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing missing in the story – the characters are well-crafted and the plot is believable & thorough, I can’t help but want for more when something is this good! I’ll definitely be first in line when the next book comes out this summer knowing that Trentham just owns it at delivering the quirky small-town romance :)
(Pretty much new characters so this can easily stand on its own)
