Y'all, I've never read a Peterson book before and I'm super glad that Cash was the first. Cash & Mollie are a lot of fun together. I liked that while they rubbed each other wrong at the beginning it really didn't take them long to develop a more positive relationship. Peterson could easily have leaned into the enemies-to-lovers trope but chose to pulled back a little there and I enjoyed that it was lighter on the angst.

Cash is a good person and while he's disappointed by the way things have turned out he just doesn't have it in him to take it out on Mollie for long. Drawn to her gumption and how she obviously cares about others, including him, Cash is there to support her too, to help her come to terms with her feelings about her dad, and to be there as she figures out where her heart lies.

It may be predictable but it still has all the feels ... and all the dirty talking cowboy that a reader could ask for. I'm looking forward to seeing what Peterson has in store for the rest of the Rivers boys. She's definitely teed us up for a good one with Wyatt :)
