Love the Beauty and the Beast vibes! Really enjoyed this, my main note is Sian’s hot and cold went on a little too long for me.

I think I’m so drawn to this story because the Vrekeners are an allegory for religion and/or Christianity. Thronos breaking free from everything he was raised to believe is very relatable story for so many former church kids. I love how strong he is and how horny he is and how much he supports Lanthe eventually.

Apparently I rated this 5 stars originally??!! I’m downgrading to a 4. I still enjoyed it, but Will’s story is so sad and his hatred and terrible behaviour towards Chloe is hard to swallow (no pun intended). I would have liked to see him work through his trauma more, but it was kind of “fixed” when he learned more about the Ubus realm. Trauma isn’t healed by loving your mate. I love Chloe.

Still a banger. I love Malkom and Carrow. While torture island is a terrible place, there is a lot of action and I love the relationship that develops between the two MCs and Ruby as well.

This was a much “smaller” story in that it mostly takes place in one location with just the two main characters, so it’s not quite as exciting as the previous books. I thought having a ghost character was really interesting though, especially to pair with Conrad who is so unstable and violent.
I really liked the scene where they flirt and get intimate without actually touching.  Conrad is so awful at the beginning that I found it hard to root for him, but he did mostly redeem himself in the end.
As always, Nix brings the comic relief :)

This is a continuation of the hie storyline, but focuses on what happened to Mariketa (and Bowen). I enjoyed this one a lot, but the ending felt a bit rushed—there was so much time with them in the jungle, and then the
final battle and Mari learning her powers
happened so quickly. I enjoyed our introduction to a witch lead character and how Mari didn’t put up with Bowen’s shit. Their banter was great. The dynamic between Bowen and Mari felt very similar to Lachlain and Emma, so it seemed at bit repetitive, likely because I read them in such close succession. And I love how we’re slowly meeting more characters. Hello, demons!

Again, I initially rated this a 4, but I’m bumping it up to a 5. The hie is such a great set piece for this story, so much adventure and excitement. I also really like Sebastian, the ultimate hot nerd lol.

First off, damn, Ronin is fine. Love this hero. Obviously he is gorgeous, but I also really loved his open and honest communication with Kim. I don’t usually care for baby tropes, but this one worked for me. And those sex scenes!! Thoroughly enjoyed this one.
