Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night
by Kresley Cole
This is a continuation of the hie storyline, but focuses on what happened to Mariketa (and Bowen). I enjoyed this one a lot, but the ending felt a bit rushed—there was so much time with them in the jungle, and then the final battle and Mari learning her powers happened so quickly. I enjoyed our introduction to a witch lead character and how Mari didn’t put up with Bowen’s shit. Their banter was great. The dynamic between Bowen and Mari felt very similar to Lachlain and Emma, so it seemed at bit repetitive, likely because I read them in such close succession. And I love how we’re slowly meeting more characters. Hello, demons!
