As usual , 5 stars for Cassandra Clare and all the other authors who have delivered yet another set of exciting short stories within the shadow hunter world.
I enjoyed that they centred around Jem and Tessa (two of my faveorite characters) and explored the search for the lost Herondale (even though we know what happens) but it was exciting to see them get to that point, over the years, while also setting up plotlines for the prequels sequel trilogy and also the final instalment of the Wicked Powers.
The stories flowed at a nice pace, not all full of action but nevertheless exciting, heartwarming and hilarious. (Lilys nicknames for Jem had me in tears, especially when Tessa adopted them)
Absolutely perfect in my opinion. But I will say you will have had to read the other novels in the series to understand what is happening. (The mortal instruments, infernal devices and the dark artifices.) But if you haven't read ANY of them, this is the urban fantasy series you've been looking for 😉
2020 can't come soon enough.

Incredible. An absolute hilarious and heartwarming, sarcastic novel that made me straight up laugh out loud so many times and made me smile so much my face aches. Full of sex scandles, politics, family drama, delinquency, romance and karaoke, I couldn't put it down. Hands down my faveorite novel of 2019 so far. By the end of it, I had tears in my eyes
**Warning: this text may contain spoilers** I did say it has spoilers but it's not really spoilers. Like major spoilers.
So much nostalgia. I finished this in one sitting. I couldn't put it down. It was incredible. This was my faveorite film growing up and it's still something I hold in high regard. It was fantastic to return to the antics of the Sanderson sisters. As much as i loved this book, I gave it 4 stars but i have my reasons. (Would have been 4.5)
"Part 1"
Part one is essentially the "movie" that we all know and love and as much as I enjoyed it and there were a few extra parts and some things explained more, I couldn't help but feel if I hadn't seen the movie, the flow wouldn't make that much sense to me. There were parts that didn't translate as well in book form as they did in film form as most of the dialog was the same. The extra bits added in felt kind of forced but I guess it was to spur the plot of the sequel. But still, this took me right back to my childhood and I smiled the whole way through.
Part 2.
Had a different pace to the first part and it read more like a novel. Following Max and Allison's daughter and friends, the plot was interesting and although similar to the first part/movie (we want to live forever) it wasn't boring and it was done in a way that made it feel different and expanded on the lore of the world of Hocus Pocus more. Some highlights were the sisters discovering Instagram and Mary's musical number through Salem Common and the fact that the main protagonist was LGBQT. I loved it and it felt like a proper well written sequel to a much loved film and if they made this as an official film sequel I would be thrilled. All the old characters returned and some old storylines were expanded. (Like HOW did Jay and Ice get out of those cages)
Please don't take my negatives to heart, I absolutely adored this book and I feel like everyone who grew up on the film would adore it and it would be a perfect way to Indroduce younger kids to this beloved cult classic.

A book everyone should read. It was phenomenal. I couldn't put it down. Honestly if I was a teacher I'd be giving this to all my students to read. Powerful, Emotional, stunning. 5 stars isn't enough.
Brilliant. Angie Thomas is one of my new faveorite authors. Her writing style and the way she tells this story is stunning. Makes me feel like I'm actually there with her characters, feeling what they feel, going through their struggles with them.
I like that this is set in the same district as T.H.U.G and I liked that it was more grittier than it also. Bri was a great character although she was incredibly flawed but I liked that.
I can't wait to see what Angie Thomas comes out with next!!.
Also, A.T spits some series fire! Well worth the read guys, you won't be disappointed. (And that's coming from someone who doesn't really like hip hop or rap)

A fantastic prequel. Fitted in brilliantly with the comics. A must have for any fan of the series. I'm glad Sarah Rees Brennan was the one to write this story, she did a brilliant job and deserves more than five stars. 13 stars all the way. Can't wait for the sequel. Off now to binge watch the show.
While I really enjoyed stalking jack the ripper, I enjoyed this more, as with Jack the Ripper we all knew his victims and such and with this I had no idea who was next, who did it, ect. I really enjoyed the imagery of beautiful villages, snow forests and mountain ranges, and of course, Draculas Castle. Watching Audrey and Thomas relationship develop was interesting, and at times, I wanted to throw the book in frustration because I just wanted them to kiss!!
A thrilling tale of mystery and romance with a gothic setting full of monsters and vampires, strigoi and serial killers.

Wow.
I went into this with pretty high expectations after reading "one of us is lying" and it didn't disappoint!
From the offset Karen M.McManus did a fantastic job of creating a tense, creepy atmosphere drawing the reader into a town with a dark history and everyone had secrets. I love feeling like everyone had a tiny, inconsequential piece of the story but not enough to paint a large enough picture of what actually happened/what was going on. I loved the twins, and Malcolm and Mia. All the characters were interesting and all the way through the book I found myself questioning everyone's stories and motives, and in the end, I had no idea "whodunnit". A brilliant mystery set against the background of a sleepy town with a Halloween theme park where the original murder took place, all culminating in a chilling climax. What's not to love. Highly anticipating any and all futher books from McManus!!
