A hard book to get into and a story about a very real, but unhappy topic. Rich longs for a different life. He's in a rut in every aspect of his everyday life. One week a year he teaches an art class at a seminar by the sea. There he meets Amy who is as unhappy as Rich is. Together they try to help each other through what to me sounds like a mid-life crisis. No happy ending here.
Super cute, light, fluffy romance-exactly what I expect from Ms. Kinsella. She didn't let me down. Poppy and Sam are likeable characters, they seem real to the reader. They become friends through a misplaced phone. The only thing that bugged me was that Poppy all of the sudden questions Magnus's feelings for her-I guess it just seemed a bit out of the blue to me. But, then again, I was rooting for Sam and Poppy.
I didn't think I would like this book at all. I struggled through the first chapter. I wasn't enjoying Stella, her dynamics with her parents and while I enjoyed the premise of the book I couldn't see myself getting into it. Well, I was dead wrong. I am so grateful to myself, lol, for continuing on with the book, because by chapter 3 I was hooked. I fell in love with Michael. I wanted to get to know his sisters (please continue with their stories!), I am curious about Quan, and I just wanted to see Michael and Stella get rid of their baggage and fall in love. It did get a bit steamy, which was fine with me, but other readers might not enjoy reading the graphic sex scenes. Thank you for the perfect beach read and for keeping the old saying "there is someone for everyone" alive!

This story started with a mystery that threw best friends Knox and Selena together to face the troubles in their past. At the end of the story the mystery is not solved, I get that this is the start of a series, but I am confused. The heat between Knox and Selena was there but for some reason seemed a little fake. Not sure why, maybe the focus on the list of Knox's daughter, which teared at me and kept me from really enjoying this story. Maybe I was just too sad to enjoy the love story? I'm intrigued by the side charcaters, Knox's ex wife and Selena's best friend, of course Will. I need to know what happens with Will! I'm not sure I will keep going and read more of the story even though I'm so curious about Will.

This book was the perfect summer read for me. It was fast paced, not much depth, enough romance and thrill to keep me turning the pages and I could put it down and forget about it. Ok, so that last thing isn't so great. This is a YA thriller. It completely meets that expectation. The romance is definitely 'first love'. The main character, Audrey, has a lot going on, meaning family drama, friend drama, body issues. I enjoyed the insight into wildfires. I grasped immediately the lies and mental health issues that Brooks was dealing with. Again, it's a YA thriller. I would agree with most of the other reviewers, 3 out of 5 stars.

Just not my thing. Very sad. I put it down and couldn't pick it back up. I was interested in the historical aspect.
This is my kind of book. Smart, successful woman. A man with a lot going on in his life, including strong family values. And of course, excellent friends. Did I mention the diversity that actually resembles real life? Light, with enough meat to make this romance interesting. I'm definitely reading the next in this series. thanks first 2 reads for the galley in exchange for a honest review.
More of a story of two friends, with a bit of thrill and medicine thrown in there for good measure. Emma and Zadie have been friends since the beginning of college and seen each other through med school, now in their mid 30s secrets are creeping up that could spoil their careers and friendship. I really, really enjoyed this book.
A different sort of thriller. I expected more of a murder mystery, not a book about how a tramatic experience shapes your life. Who exactly was leading the double life? Claire or her Dad? I felt sorry for Claire, but I didn't like her at all. Her life was full of horrible events, hut she kept trudging along. The book ends very quickly, but lags in the middle.
