Really interesting read and perfect for the times. Only 3 stars because I thought the medical issue took away from the romance and cultural issues which I found lent more to the story. I was definitely educated and enjoyed myself as well. Loved that everyone found there squad!

I've never watched The Bachelor, but I think I understand the plot. Bea is a plus sized fashion influencer who signs up to be on a reality TV show to find love. She's struggling with unrequited love, issues with her body image and overall questions what she wants in a relationship. I did enjoy this book. It read true. I didn't, well I got sick of Bea's image issues, but as a human being, I know those are hard to shake.

Liked this, but didn't love it. Quick and fun read about what could have been. Here's hoping for more character depth in the second book. This one set up a TON!

The perfect escape from this world we currently live in. A great beach read too!! Just enough character development, lots of romance (but not too graphic), humor and a tiny mystery-that is very, very easy to solve. This one will just make you feel good and root for love. Lucy has never done anything crazy, so when a psychic at her sister's wedding tells her to look and follow the signs for love, Lucy does just that. She uses her sister's extra honeymoon reservation to London as an excuse to follow the signs and change up her life. Little does Lucy know that she will change everything for the better!

So, so not the read I expected. I wanted light, fun, friendships and maybe a bit of drama/romance. I got a very heavy read about domestic violence, unwed mothers and the heartache of being a first time Mom and the trials that go into having a newborn. Super heavy stuff for a summer read. I ended up putting this down and then forcing myself to finish. I am glad I did. I needed the see the characters come full circle and they did. No one got a happy ending, but they flourished in their circumstances and I needed to make sure that happened.

This is so not my usual read. I scare very easily, so this one put me over the age. I actually debated putting it down many times, only to force myself to finish. Not sure it was worth it to me.

Really well written spooky book full of Jamaican history as well as family history. I had a lot of trouble figuring out who was who and how they were related. Wishing I had read this in book form so I could easily flip back and forth to the family tree at the beginning. I loved how this really focused on the women characters and how they influenced the family, even though the premise is that a man fakes his death. Reading about plantation life is not for the faint of heart. I also was very confused as to what was going on in the last chapter. I would much rather had seen a wrap up of Abel's life. Or even Vera's.
