Loved the characters, the history, but slow at parts and then wrapped up super quickly.
Very predictable for fun and light teen romance. I enjoyed the characters and I got lost in the story. Which is all I can ask for in a teen romance.
I did NOT think this book was like Bridget Jones. Sure Roxy puts herself into horribly embarrassing situations. But there isn't much humor in it. And when you find out the truth about one of her friends, it's not funny at all. I did enjoy the letter writing tale. It got slow in places and while I felt for Roxy, she sure could have straightened out her life a heck of a lot sooner! It did all wrap up very neat and pretty. It wasn't too heavy, which is what I need right now. Just wish it was a bit funnier.
Very predictable, but cute. I liked most of the characters. They all had impressive depth for a story line that has been told before.
I was really going to put this book down multiple times, but for some reason I stuck with it. Kind of glad I did. I really enjoyed the romance between Reid and Meg. It was quirky, hot and most of all real. Not sure I needed all the mystical lettering stuff, and I am some one who craves and enjoys the mystical. The friendship sub plots gave the book a bit more umpf for me and kept me reading. Overall, this was a slow read for me and I was left wanting a bit more speed.
Another Reese Witherspoon pick that I have thought was only ok. I was super excited to read this book. It seemed to have everything I like. There is a ton of family drama packed into just over 300 pages. Lots of heavy stuff. And to me, it was just too heavy. I had zero interest in any of the 4 main characters. There was no mystery. There was no heartfelt ending. I think I enjoyed the character of Minnie the best and she died in the first couple of pages. The overall message of forgiveness spoke to me, it just couldn't solve the other problems that I had with this work.
