Contemporary is not my normal vibe, BUT I LOVED THIS! It was so adorable and I was so ready for a happy ending! Elle is such a lovable character! And of course you hate her evil step family. That's what a retelling is lol. Everyone should read this though! It's very well written.
Actually rating is 3.75 stars.
Pros: Sometimes entriguing story, magic, female lead, always wanting more
Cons: Love triangle, slightly annoying main character, sometimes slow.
I liked it enough that I will pick up the sequel.

TW: rape, death of a parent
I have no idea what I just read. Some of this was beautiful and then some of it was just weird. I appreciate that is addressed some serious issues and our main character had the support she needed, but then it just went off on a weird path. It was like magical realism but not?? I can't really explain it. Considering this was a longer graphic novel (300+ pages,) I expected a lot more explanation. We had a lot of panels where NOTHING happens though, and I feel it could have been utilized to tell the story better. I enjoyed it enough though to push through, but I don't care to ever look back on it.

I guess I didn't mark that I finished this? Well I loved it! Lara Jean and Peter Kavinsky are my OTP forever now.
