I was never going to read this book... and then it came up as the book of the month in the book game I participate in. I listened to this, and felt all of the emotions!! Evelyn Hugo is an incredible woman, and I am so sad she is fictional. Her telling her story really touched me and has stuck with me since I read it.

Even if you do not like historical fiction, or do not like "contemporary," I believe this book has something for everyone!

This book is pure magic!!!! I had a really hard time putting this down.

Lei's transformation throughout this book is what I love! Natasha's writing style is pure gold and so incredibly beautiful!! This is one of the best reads of the year for me. My only regret is not reading it sooner.

I really enjoyed this. Generally suburban families highly disinterest me, and for whatever reason, I put the audiobook on hold at the library. I would up really loving the characters and seeing how they developed. You really feel for Pearl, and getting to learn more about her and what her mother has done for her really stuck with me.

It pains me to only give this 3 stars, and that's a nice rating.

First and foremost, I am a comic fan, I am an Aquaman fan, and I am a Mera FAN! This comic did her no justice. I felt absolutely no connection to the characters either. It felt very rushed and there was no real character build up. They quickly fell in love with each other in a matter of a few days.

In my opinion, this retelling was poorly developed. It could have been so much more.

I absolutely loved this book! The friendship between Ava and Gen is one I have alway longed for, but have never had. The authors have done an excellent job with capturing each of the personalities as well.
I love all the representation in this as well. Also, the text/email format is on of my most favorites types of formats!
I need more. This book did not give us the final fate of 4 characters though, and that was disappointing! I hope we get more!

This book was definitely good, but I like the movie better, which kills me to say! 😭😭

What a ride Crooked Kingdom was! I can't believe it's over!! Leigh Bardugo has woven such a rich and beautiful world with such addictive characters that I didn't want to finish this book. I wanted to stay here forever. Kaz is so snarky and Inej is just... Inej. Wylan and Jesper!! And Nina and Mathias... words will never be able to express how much these characters have come to mean to me. Such beauty in all of this...

This was SO good! I should have never started it before vacation, because it took me forever to get back to. I loved all the mythology linked to this. I clung to the characters, especially Yumeko, and was so intrigued by her character development. All of the monsters in this were phenomenal as well.

And then the ending.... now I have to wait for the sequel?? When you drop an ending like that???? I definitely recommend everyone read this book, especially if you like Japanese anything. I will be anxiously awaiting the second book and to see where this journey goes.

My favorite story was "When Water Sang Fire." Otherwise this is lovely Leigh Bardugo. 💜💜💜
