I really enjoyed this book and flew through it. This is the second book I’ve read by this author (the first was Of Literature and lattes) and I can’t wait to read more by her. I would describe this book as a Hallmark movie (there’s no steam in this book) with more character depth, growth and amazing lessons. ⁣

I loved that this book was set in a small town ✨ It felt like Stars Hollow and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The three main characters (Madeline, Janet and Claire) all have their own in-depth stories and I enjoyed how they were each in their own perspective. When they’re learning to move forward after their friend/bookshop owner passes away, they find comfort in the letters she left them that asks them to each read the books she’s listed for them in order. What a beautiful gift and list

Wow! This is my second Backman book (I’ve also read Beartown) and his writing style is incredible! I listened to this book thanks to @librofm and @atriabooks - The narrator was amazing and I didn’t want my drives to end so I could keep listening to this book.

My heart broke for Gifty - what an incredibly moving and powerful book!⁣

This is a gorgeously written narrative of a woman trying to survive the sadness, heartbreak and grief of losing her brother to addiction and a mother trapped in depression. ⁣

Gifty chases after her dreams and doesn’t let anything stop her. She is strong, brave and an advocate for herself. She is a thinker, problem solver and inclusive to others. ⁣

After reading this book, I can not wait to read Homegoing.⁣

What a sweet, charming and delightful book! I really enjoyed this story of Issy making her way back to her dreams after being laid off. The character growth was so good in this book and I enjoyed seeing Izzy grow in her confidence, friendships and bravery. ❤️⁣⁣⁣⁣

Issy’s friendship with Austin was so authentic, sweet and relatable. Grandpa Joe was one of my favorite characters and I enjoyed his wisdom that he passed down to Issy. This book is set in London and it was such a good setting for this story. I can’t wait to read more delightful books by Jenny Colgan. Her writing style and stories make me happy! ✨

TW: abandonment and talks of sexual assault⁣

I really enjoyed reading this book! Queenie is a complex character and grows so much throughout this book! Her friendships were my favorite part and she had loyal and supportive friends that loved her through her struggles. ⁣

Some parts of this book made me uncomfortable but that was on purpose by the author to show us what POC go through and she did amazing at it. The author showed us what ‘casual racism’ looks like in the workplace, families and social circles. I learned so much from this book and I highly recommend it!

This book was such a delight and breath of fresh air! Lucy is a fun main character and I think there a bit of Lucy’s adventurous spirit in each of us. She has quite the unfortunate situation at her sisters wedding so she decides to escape and travel. I lived vicariously through Lucy as I haven’t been out of the US before but I would love to travel someday! ✨⁣

I flew through this book in two sittings and just loved the characters and the setting! Winter, London, Paris, a few meet-cutes and lots of coffee and pasteries, what more could you want from a sweet romance book?! ⁣

I loved Lucy’s family and friends! They were well developed and rooted for her! ⁣

I’d you’re looking for a feel-good, minimal steam romance book, this one is for you!!

Wow! This book is so beautiful, heart breaking and powerful.

Think You’ve Got Mail (my all time favorite movie) meets a cooking show and you’ve got this delightful book! I bought this book awhile ago and finally got around to reading it and I don’t know why I waiting so long! I loved the restaurant atmosphere where Lou was the owner and head chef. I enjoyed Al’s accent, mannerisms and growth throughout the book!
