I loved Eleanor! She was so funny but I really felt for her in so many ways. I felt like this book portrayed mental illness (depression) in such a way that helped you understand it better. There are so many things I could say about this book, it left me loving Eleanor and the other characters in her life. It left me sad to say goodbye to her and it left me sad for what she’s gone through in her life! The reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that it is a slower book than what I’m used to but I still really liked it. ✨
As someone who is a huge mental illness/mental health and counseling advocate, I really liked this book and I am so excited for the movie to come out!

All the stars for this amazing book!! I read this book because many bookstagram friends raved about it and I'm so glad I listened. Chloe has so much sass, spunk and speaks her mind. I read this book to understand what other go through on a daily basis, to educate myself and enjoy more of this wide genre we call Romance.

This was my first book of 2020 and I’m so glad it was!! 5

This was my first book by Katherine Center and I really liked it! She brings to light so many heavy topics such as cancer, drug abuse and gender power struggles. This was a face pace read and is so worth it.

I really liked this book! I really enjoyed the setting, the characters and the growth throughout the book. Alice is amazing and I am so in awe of her character. So many times throughout this book, I was amazed at the bravery coming from such incredible women in the 1930’s, I love reading about powerful women! I read this for my IRL book club this month and we had a great time discussing it over Zoom last night ✨

Synopsis: Set in the 1930’s, Alice Wright married American Bennett Gan Cleve hoping to escape her stifling life in England. Alice has to live next to her overbearing father-in-law and that doesn’t go well. So when Alice joins a team of women to deliver books as part of Eleanor Roosevelt’s new traveling library, she learns more about what the small community in Kentucky is like. She grows in her friendship, independence and love for others! This book based on true stories will sure take you on a ride with love and heartbreak.

I liked the idea of this book, the setting and main character were good but it drug on for me. Maybe in another season of life, I’d feel differently about this book but right now, it wasn’t for me.
