What a phenomenal book!! I loved listening to this book and hearing about Michelle’s life growing up! I have this book as well and I can’t wait to reread it sometime

Wow! I really liked this book. This is the first book I’ve read by Angie Thomas and I’m so excited to pick up the next one. • ❤️

There are so many reasons I like to read and one of them is to broaden my horizons and learn about what other people go through! This book is such an eye opening, phenomenally written debut book! @kileyreid beautifully showed two different perspectives and tackled issues of class and race. I flew through this book in 1 day and couldn’t put it down.

I really enjoyed this audiobook! Phoebe is hilarious and put humor to real life problems that people of color face. I'm trying to read/listen to more books by POC and reading 'own voices' books and this one is a great choice.

Wow! This book is powerful, magical and so descriptive. If you’re looking to read more about Hawaii, magical realism and complicated family stories, you will LOVE this book. I had the opportunity to meet the author @theincrediblekdub last fall when he was at a Valley Bookseller event and he is so genuine and I was thrilled to preorder his debut novel. This book was out of my comfort zone with scenes with ghosts, sharks, and such complex characters and I really enjoyed it. ✨

I don't even know how to put a review into words for this book!

What an incredible audiobook that left me so sad and heartbroken at many points.

Thank you Jodi Kantor for braving this story and sharing it with the rest of us.

Wow! I don’t know why it took me so long to read this book! It’s so powerful, emotional and heartbreaking. I loved the authors writing style and I can’t wait to read more by her. ✨

The two main characters were connected at the perfect time and I loved the ending. I loved how the author weaved many heavy topics into this book so beautifully. There was race, class, sex and so many others. This book showed some amazing, brave and independent women! Beauty fits her name and I loved watching Robin grow. What a mature child to go through so many things and still want what is best for those she loved. There were so many characters that taught me lessons and this book would be awesome for a book club too!
