This book has such a unique format that kept me hooked until the end because I needed closure.
The Baby-Sitters Club Graphix #1: Kristy's Great Idea: Kristy's Great Idea
Raina Telgemeier, Ann M. Martin
I will absolutely be buying every BSC graphic novel there is because this is a fantastic way to revisit this series.
I received a free copy from BookSparks and the author in exchange for my honest review.
CW: infidelity, bullying, self-harm, suicidal ideation, disordered eating
This book is advertised as Desperate Housewives meets Mean Girls and that is a perfect description. I was hooked from the first chapter and read this start to finish in one day. This book is sad and funny and has so many twists and turns. I love the growth of the characters and the ending was absolutely perfect. This is a great debut novel and I hope Newman will keep writing more.

CW: pretty much everything you might need a warning for is discussed in this book
I really did not care for this book. I had seen a lot of good reviews and decided to opt for the audiobook because I didn't really have the time to commit to reading the physical book. I loved the concept of this book, but the execution fell short for me. A lot of the stories were too similar and caused the book to drag.

This is my first Terri Libenson book and it definitely won't be my last. Super cute story about a shy young girl's life leading up to her bat mitzvah.
CW: school shootings
This is the third book I've read about Parkland. Each has been challenging to read and offers a unique perspective. I'd recommend this as a starting point, if you're interested in reading more about these issues, as it is a pretty short read, especially compared to Dave Cullen's Parkland.

CW: suicide, murder, police brutality
It took me 3-4 hours to read this 97 page book because there was so much to process. Nothing I could say in this review could do this book justice. Just. Wow.
If this isn't on your TBR, put it there.

I cannot believe this is Sylvester's YA debut novel. Just. Wow. A phenomenally well-written book. This will absolutely be one of my top books of 2020.

This book was so good! The whole book takes place over the course of one day and is super fast-paced; I finished the whole thing in one sitting. The main characters are super likable and I was pulled into their stories right from the start. This book is perfect for fans of The Hate U Give as it has a similar storyline - young, black girl who is interested in social justice reform attends prestigious majority white school, where she dates a sort of "woke" white boy who just doesn't quite get it.
