This one was a lot slower than the first one, but the second half was amazing.
CW: racial slurs, infidelity, police brutality
This memoir is very moving. I don't know if I would have picked it up had it not been chosen as a book club pick, but I really enjoyed learning more about Elaine's time at Teen Vogue.
One thing that bothered me about this book is the frequency with which she referred to folks as her tribe.

I really enjoyed this collection of stories. It was sort of tricky to follow on audio because the narrators are both women and some of the stories were from men, but I enjoyed the content nonetheless. This book offers a lot of ideas for folks who may be early on in their activism. I definitely would like to get a copy of this book for my shelves as I think it'd be a good reference.
Weird but Normal: Essays on the Awkward, Uncomfortable, Surprisingly Regular Parts of Being Human
This is a great book on audio and I laughed out loud a lot. This would be a fun one to add to my bookshelves, but not a high priority.
Our House Is on Fire: Scenes of a Family and a Planet in Crisis
Svante Thunberg, Beata Ernman, Greta Thunberg, Malena Ernman
CW: depression, eating disorders
Highly recommend this book on audio. Very educational in regards to the dangers of climate change.

CW: racism, death of a parent by cancer
Wow. This book is absolutely phenomenal. I read They Called Us Enemy earlier this year because I hardly knew anything about the Japanese internment camps. I find it hard to read history books because history has never been a subject that I have loved, but I've found that graphic novels have been a much more accessible way to learn.
This story is rather devastating while also filled with little bits of hope and joy. The artwork is incredible; this is Kiku's graphic novel debut and I hope there is much more to come. It was also nice to see a queer relationship so normalized and not tokenized.
